Default Air france b 767-300

Basically this is a quite ordinary model made from an Hasegawa model kit.

I improved the model with Pitot tubes, taxi lights on the nose gear, a few drain masts and a tail skid.
Other details were added with home made decals to complement those available from F-DCAL.

To avoid the silvering effect that we often experience when using clear decals, the originals that had to be applied on the white parts of the model were printed on a white decal.

Whenever possible, it is a very good alternative to decals printed on clear background.
There is practically no difference between the white of the decals and the white paint (Tamyia Pure White TS 26), furthermore the edges of the decals are almost unnoticeable.

For the coroguard, I simply used Gray Primer from Tamyia, not bad ...
I was disappointed with coroguard decals available from Flying Colors, they reacted negatively to Micro Sol product.

Of course, my model does 't have the ambition to compete with the perfect finish of the products made by our mainstream manufacturers, all I wanted was something good enough, able to sustain comparison with some of my snap fit Hogan models and fill a gap in my AF fleet.

Jean Pierre.

Very nice looking model Jean Pierre.
Having this model made by any of the existing manufacturers would of course be great, but a do-it-yourself project like yours is hopefuly satisfying as well.

Another great model Jean Pierre. Sometimes after doing a DIY it then gets released!!!

Although in this case it sounds like an Air France 767 won’t be coming along anytime soon.

Beautiful model Jean Pierre and you are way too modest, your AF B-767 is equal to if not superior to any manufacturer’s offering. Well done mon ami.

Thank you my friends for your kind comments.

For the time being I make a pause, the Baade 152 is waiting for me, I have also ordered a blank A 310, he will receive the AF livery ...
....and I still have a lot of resin castings, enough to be busy for a few months.

Jean Pierre.

Hello Jean Pierre,

Sorry for stepping in late; that is a very nice 767 you are showing there! The details look very nice, especially on the belly. It might not be the "perfect finish" when you look at your own work (I recognize that), but from this point of view it is an excellent finished model! Congratulations.

cheers, VJ

Yes, very well build. I'm also fond of building models from kits.
