Default Flybe

This is my first attempt at creating the Flybe livery. It certainly was a challenge to create the decals as accurately as possible. After many many hours here is the result, an ERJ 190 in 1/400 scale. This is the test run for a Flybe ERJ 175 to be done in 1/200 when the donor model arrives from Hong Kong.

looks great. So sad as I have fond memories of several Newquay flights from LGW on Flybe..

Real tomato ketchup Eddie?
Nothing but the best! "I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? I like it better than tuna helper myself, don't you, Clark?"

Looks amazing. I applaud anyone who can create their own decals! Especially in that scale.

Thank you all for your compliments. At 74 My eyes are finding hard to keep focus for long periods. Here is a comparison with a UK one pond coin.

I got a request to make a Flybe Embraer 175 in 1/200 scale. So as I was looking for things to do during self isolation I decided to give it a go. Sourcing a suitable donor was not an easy task, even then it was not quite exactly right and had to do some minor surgery to get it at least half way right. I thought it wise not to try and bend the winglets to the correct angle as per the airframe used by Flybe.

I feel the best way to compliment your work on my behalf is to tell you quite humbly at half your age, I would not have the nerve or ability to create such a beautiful custom. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for your kind comments. If I where half my age I’d be 37, but those days are long gone.

Very impressive work. You must have covered most of the G- reg regional fleets by this point!

This time I’ve up-scaled the 195 to 1/200 scale and given it a different registration.
You get bonus points if you can spot what is technically wrongly with it.

Is it the F letter on the rear door ?

Anyway, amazing work! It reminds me of the old days when I was working @ CDG. Ah the Flybe flights...always the joy of the day. Especially when there was a technical and the F/A had to stay overnight...Well, those ladies sure knew how to party

Thanks for your compliment.
It’s not the F, but this may provide a clue.

I think the donor model will be the give away. I’ve tried to make a 190 look like a 195, which is 10mm shorter in 1/200 scale. The JC Wings donor made the job harder as the fuselage tampo printing was coated with a gloss cote and acetone would not remove it. So a 30 min job turned into 3 hrs.

I totally agree the front door was not the correct size, but this has now been rectified. I spend hours trying to get the decal design right and then overlook something blindingly obvious. Thanks for pointing it out.
