Default 1:200 TUI 757 diecast

Ok so I have had this on my mind for a while and as we are on lock down I thought I would give it a go, and add to my swear jar at the same time.

More updates as and when I get there.

Stay safe everyone.

Tomorrow I will be able to remove all the masking, fingers crossed. Been a total bugger getting the wave livery done.

Looks good !

The most difficult in this kind of livery is to have the two sides of the fuselage rigorously symmetrical.

Promising, looks great! Indeed not the easiest livery to reproduce.

Your not wrong there, I have obsessed over getting both sides to match, and I can report it does. Been a pain to do but I am very pleased.

Thank you for the kind words.

I will post more pictures on Wednesday when I start doing the decals..... always fun.

Ok so just need to apply the inner wingtip decals and clear coat then she is pretty much done. I will delete the emergency wing details eventually when I find the correct paint colour.

Thanks for your kind words, been a hard one but very rewarding.

Great model !

Be careful with the coroguard, if it is tampo printed, it may go away when removing the emergency escape way.

For the coroguard, I have good results with Tamiya Surface Primer Gray ref 87042.

I have coroguard decals so no worries there mate, it’s the wing colour that is an issue.

How on earth do you manage to separate the wings from the root? I need to do that with a project.

Depends on the model, I have had good success in using very warm water to release the wings but still requires some force in some cases. Never ever use boiling water, only water you would happily put your hand in.

One last thing, before you drain the water, check the model in case anything small has detached like the little jewels, happened to me a few times. You don’t want those to disappear down the drain.

That does look fabulous - and I imagine the rewarding feeling is very nice. I'm working up the nerve to begin doing my own customs and have started setting up a workspace (I'm kinda with Russ on the not having talent bit though ) . Your work here has inspired me to keep going down that path though.

Take your time and do the prep work plus start off with an easy custom then advance when your confidence builds.
Please feel free to message me and I will help as much as I can do.

I am very humbled by your kind words. Thank you so much.

That is a challenge. How is it going so far? People may laugh about my swear jar comment earlier but I think you totally get it’s no joke.
