Dear DAC members,
Can anyone help me with this? The training departement of my employer asked me a way to update the livery on this nice 1/24 model to the current one. Since the model is a training tool and not for PR
purposes, spending a huge amount of money on it is not allowed by management (low-cost after all). So sending it to one of the professional builders is not an option for now. Either we leave the model as is, or we make it into a nice hobby project ;-)
Although I do have the skills to repair the dents, scratches and to spray it nicely with an airbrush, I am not so sure about the decals. My experience with smaller models is that decals remain fragile, even after a gloss top coat. No problem for my own models, since they end up in a showcase only to be touched with care for some cleaning from time to time. But this model should survive the up coming years in a classroom were new cabin crew and pilots will be trained. Can anyone give me some tips how decalling these large scale display models work? Or maybe some has the solution to make decals more durable?
kind regards, VJ
