Default My second custom: SAS Boeing 767

Hi guys,

this model was on my wish list for a long time and finally I made it. This is a SAS Boeing 767 in the old "rainbow" scheme. Flew with it to CPH-Tokyo (and return) way back.

Donor was a JC Wings JAL. Removing the titles etc. was pretty straightforward. I encountered an issue with the registration on the wings. JAL has the registration (plus the red dot) on the under and upper side of the wing. Trying to remove the registration resulted in destroying the corroguard color (see picture). Per suggestion of Jean Pierre I ordered coroguard from AHS. This fitted pretty nicely although not 100% and some parts of the red dot are still visible. Ah well, not a big deal for me.

Decals were from Liveries Unlimited and went on without any issue. I believe it turned our pretty well.

One question to the pros: Bought a can of Tamiya clear coat, however there is a note on the can stating that it should not be used on decals and stickers. Would you still go ahead or use another solution?

Enjoy the pictures!

Kind regards

Very nice job Markus.
Making his own model is always rewarding.

I use Mr Hobby clear coat, gloss, semi gloss or flat, it depends on your model.
No problem with tampo printing or decals.
Very happy with the result.

Jean Pierre.

PS : Sorry for the picture
