Default My two 1/200 Airbus Customs

Just completed the 319. Along with the Frontier A321, these have been my only two Hogan Conversions. Both came out pretty good. One thing I learned is that the Hogan models vertical stab is smaller than say the Gemini Airbus models. On both of these I had to trim down the tail decals to make it work. I added the antenna on both models. Decals came from 8adecs.com and V1decals.com

Holy poop on a stick! I freakin love that A321! Very nicely done. What was the base model for that one?

Lol! Thank you. The donor model was an Eva A321 by hogan. I really wanted to use a Gemini to convert but the only one that they make with the correct engines is the Delta, and it would have been very difficult to strip all that blue off. So I went with the Hogan. But ya, very happy with the result.

Hey,
The Eva A321 seems to be a little difficult to find. You've about inspired me to give customs a try, especially on hogan models as they're relatively inexpensive and they look just as good as diecast IMHO with antenna and corogard added. The decal sets on 8adecs look awesome but do you have to request them resized to 1:200 or is it already an option?

Cheers,

Cheers,
It doesn't have to be that specific model there are a few Hogan 321's with the winglets and those type of engines. There are a bunch of them on EBay right now.

For the decals, you just need to let them know to resize to 1/200. I think I mentioned it in the order, then followed up with an email. Any of their laser printed decals (which is most of them) can be resized. But be prepared to trim down the tail decals to fit the Hogans tail, which is a bit smaller than the decals are made for. Also, make sure you put the side banner on the correct direction. If you look closely at mine, I did not. The mid fuselage door is larger than the front door because I accidentally put them on backwards. You'll see how easy of a mistake it was when you get the decals. But now you know. 🙄

Hey,
I'm contemplating trying a scheme that would require a little paint work. Nothing major. What has been your experience with this. Primer, paints, spray paint? Also engine disassembly? It look like the engines on the frontier were painted. Also for what I had in mind of need to swap some V2500's in place of some
CFM56's I'd imagine this is just as simple and swapping engine and pylon over from wing to wing. Lastly decal placement. Is is simple to move the decals once they're on the model?

Thanks,
Greg
