It's not a UAL battleship, but it is from the same era. Flew on this many times from SFO to BUR. There are several varieties of this livery including a gray version with the same logo and and gray version with a modified logo. I can't print in white so this may have to be my only example. Model started life as a hasegawa 737-400 that was shortened. I used commercial decals and as well as making my own. I am pleased with the results for the most part. (remember, good from afar, but far from good) I still need to acquire a 737-300 for the standard livery.
Just completed decaling my 767-300. Hopefully I can get some pictures this weekend.
Very nice. I once flew on a gray version OAK - LAX. I remember it well because the comedian Chris Tucker (from the Rush Hour series) was on the same flight.

Chris Tucker... There is a blast from the past. "Do you understand the words coming out of my mouth?" One of my favorite movie quotes.
Spectacular custom model! United began the Shuttle with so much promise and created some terrific liveries. Shuttle was really fun to fly with pilot and flight attendant crews together for entire trips - something never before or subsequently achieved. Mostly west-coast flying, no all-nighters!
Sadly, it began to morph back into the mainline operation and was eventually disbanded. But it sparked fear at Southwest for a brief period. TED, created during bankruptcy, was a flimsy attempt to recreate the Shuttle ethos, but it too collapsed under its own bureaucratic weight!

Thank you! Also, I did not know about the pilots and flight crews, that is pretty cool.

Thanks... The arrows are for people that are forced to evacuate from the emergency exit over the wing. It points them to the lower portion of the wing in the event they are disoriented. I used the decals that I had... here is a reference photo that shows the arrows.

Hopefully that made sense....

Shuttle by United was created during the ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) days under Jerry Greenwald. Virtually every employee group (flt attendants being the notable exception) had significant pay cuts in exchange for stock. It's been a long time but IIRC all pilots took about 17% with Shuttle pilots another 7%. Shuttle pilots were more efficient and flew longer average monthly hours thus 737 pilots had roughly the same compensation. We bid specifically for a position with either mainline or shuttle - no monthly switching. The flying was awesome with excellent layovers in SAN, EUG, MFR, PDX, LAS, etc. United has historically scheduled pilots, flt attendants, and aircraft on unique paths, so a typical 4-leg day on a narrowbody is flown with 3 to 4 aircraft and crews. (a quick-turn to an outer station such as ABQ or OKC generally keeps all paired together) Shuttle was a notable exception and greatly enhanced schedule integrity and camaraderie. Was some of the very best flying I've experienced thus far!!
The ESOP was a disaster for most of us, but that's for another thread!
Nice model.
Can you tell which white you used for the fuselage and which gray for the wings?
I apologize.... I just saw this response. I used testors gloss white (from can) and the wings are a 50/50 mix of acrylic white and testors model master gull gray (4692).
