I am in the process of selling, or recycling anything that does not meet my BA collection criteria. I had a Herpa Boeing 747-8i House Colors sitting around (unfortunately with the curved wings) and wondered what a BA 748i would have looked like.

A couple of coats of paint, and a lot of 747-400 recycled window and door decals later...





The upper deck windows need to be re-done as they are sloping down and I still need to paint the engines and do the other side, but it did not come out too bad.

Pictured with a 748 Cargo, a 744 and a 77W for good measure. I guess I should have done a 380 too to complete the set.





I am also pondering whether or not to do a Chelsea Rose tail instead of the Union Flag. It's a fantasy model after all - so why not. Thoughts?

Looks good next to the BA Cargo! I wish BA had ordered a few of the real birds too tbh, would have been fitting to have the worlds largest ever 744 operator take a few evolved 748s for the JFK, SFO, ORD, etc runs. *sigh*

Still, its really cool to see a 3D depiction of what could have been in some alternate universe! Great effort, thx for showing her off! I like the union flag tail myself...slick look for sure.

Or a Rendezvous maybe? That would be stunning... The Union Flag looks very nice, but do you know which one would be the greatest?

Looks great as Chatham, which is what it would have been if they bought some. Could maybe add the Fly to Serve crest, but otherwise looking nice. Personally I'd love to see a 744 done in Negus livery, still hoping for a 1:1 effort for the 100th anniversary of Imperial Airways, BEA, BOAC etc etc in 2019.
