Default Psa b727-200

Hi,
Here is that beginning of a 1/72 (authentic airliners) B727-200. She will sport some PSA (pink) livery decals.

Forgot to mention, one day I was going to ask Brad if he would consider doing a build for me? It was going to be a PSA B727,only the orange livery. Really look forward to seeing this one finished. The smiling birds that once ruled Lindbergh Field.

That's gonna be one really COOL build there Brad! Especially at that 1/72 scale … lots of DETAIL!

And just to add some further background reference to this amazing San Diego airline … check out the hairstyles!

That Authentic Airliners Boeing 727 is without a doubt by far the most accurate B727
kit ever produced.
I would love one but can't afford one now.

If one of the plastic kit makers were to produce an equivalent 1/72 B727 it would
be absolutel sensational !!! A HUGE seller.

Brad, when your PSA B727 is complete it will be mind blowing awesome !

So Brad … by my calculations a 1/72nd 727-200 would be just over 2-feet long … is that right? That's HUGE!

WOW … how much does she weigh? It's a solid resin kit … correct? I'm guessing a half pound or more?

I recall Kurt mentioning in a forum that it was somewhere around 2-3 pounds, IIRC.

Greetings from Taiwan on the 4th and so far this 27 looks good and I remember my one and only PSA was an MD 80 with ATP decals. I've got to get a hold of Clint and find out if he has anymore of those decals. Will be home soon and will send you out what we discussed before I head off to Russia for 2 weeks. Wishing everyone else in here a happy 4th.regards al. Oh yeah good luck with the cheat line

I already get goose bumps just thinking about it..

Brad can build anything. I got a quote from him some time ago on a build, very reasonable. Not even close to what I would expect to pay for that much work. They truly are a scaled down version of the real thing.

I must say Mr. Shin, that one of the only threads I view on DAC (other than new or future releases) are those dealing with your work. Your ability to recreate in miniature these highly accurate replicas is phenominal. Seeing you go from the basic kit to the final product is one of the very few things that make this site worth looking at.

I only wish I had your talent (but sadly I'm not alone - few peolpe do!)

Congratulations Brad.

The B 727 is a great choice to illustrate what triple slotted flaps are.
Its wing with all the leading and trailing edge devices deployed is simply fantastic.
So much lift with a wing which is rather small when everything is retracted …
This wing was designed for speed and at the same time, it was able to produce the lift necessary at a reasonable approach speed.

I have great memories of the B 727 and your model is going to be exceptional.

Jean Pierre.

I'm back and those wings are looking good. The standing joke about the 27 was any landing was a controlled crash. I'm sending out the package on Monday since I'll be headed to Russia towards the end of the week.

I'm personally still astonished on how this fella scratch builds the flaps & stats, I mean I have never tried it but I'm sure it could take a lot of trail & error on my part to accomplish something like this...

I myself build 1:200 Hasegawa kits before but what Brad does is more like a master piece, the Picasso of aircraft model making..

I could not leave a comment until now because I was simply awestruck!!

Can you imagine if someone so talented as Mr. Brad would work for IF 200 or JC wings, man then it would be a pleasure to purchase models from these companies knowing that you would always get a quality model in your hands...

I don't know, but I bet he lives in San Diego. *wink*

I love PSA and wish the airline was better represented in 1:200 scale.

Hey Brad,

Any update on this build? I'd love to see pics if it's finished.

Hope you're well!
