Question Custom's using hogan models (advice)?

Hello D.A.C:

Im planning to do a 1/200 Saudia Cargo using the Hogan 747-8F in boeing colors. And I need some advice on how I should do it.

1:200 Saudia Cargo Boeing 747-800F

Do I just spray-paint over the model? Do i need to put any primer or anything? I need some help because I don't want to mess up on a pricey model.
(by the way is airline hobby supplies trustworthy/good?)

Thanks

Before you begin you do realize that Hogan is planning on releasing this model?

I know they are releasing a 1/400 hogan version of the Saudia cargo. Didn't know they are doing a 1/200 version.

I applied easy off oven cleaner to the model of the plane. After that I sanded off the paint scheme and applied my own. There are probably other ways of doing this, but this is the way I did it. Just another tip, sanding is very time intense, but in the end its worht it.
