Default any references of reliable AND good custom makers?

i have tried a few that replied back via the forum for custom work.

overall, i would say not very pleased with how things are turning out.

a couple of the 'customizers' donot respond at all and then a couple take a year+ to get started on doing the work.

is this normal? or have i just had bad experience with choosing 'customizers'?

i know people have things to do outside of custom work of models. but a courtesy to agreement on doing the work should be given and communicate seems appropriate. its been a year+ with one person that hasnot done anything with the donors i sent. the last response from him was he was going to return the donors since he couldnot do the work...and that was last year.

seems like i went on a rant. but does anyone have a reliable AND good custom model maker to refer? i have donors and drawings ready. just ready for work to get started.

im sure many people will agree that Al(stang21181) provides excellent customising service in both 1:400 and 1:200

I tried to get some done by putting a post here three times but no answers.
So I figured out that i would save my money and it is better this way.

Hi guys

Yes what you state is correct I have many orders on back log that must be cleared before i take on more orders...This is because I fly full time and have a family and other interests. It would be nice to be in the position of Martin at smallworld to be able to make them at will but in my case it cannot be....The only time I get to do the customs is when on stand by at home 1-2 days a month. These creations take time and must be done properly as I'm sure you'll understand. So that's why I havent been able to accept orders for sometime now.

I've only been doing 1/200 lately and will be sticking to that scale as 1/400 is a bit fiddly...

Thanks for understanding

Cheers
Al

thanks. i believe i have contacted stang before. the postage costs were the issue as it was alot to post back and forth for me to him. but i have seen his work and heard positives.

i think i may have to yield to what one post says, and just save my money. its a bit of shame because i have all these 'donors' waiting, but i think will just have to sell them off 8-(
