This is my first time using DAC and my first airport. I started this huge project in 1/200 scale so that i could capture all of the amazing details in this 6.2 foot by 2.4 foot exact scale model of the massive terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport in London. I am aware that it is a BA terminal only but due to my lack of BA models in 1/200 scale i put some other airlines in as well.
The bulk of the terminal was made from normal foam core, but the extremely large roof is built from foam cross beams intertwined into the shape of the roof and covered by posterboard.
The windows are just made of laminated paper.

with the exception of the gates on the left side of the terminal, all of the gates are on the left side of the planes, but due to a surface problem i had with the boards underneath the terminal, I could not put a gate on the left side as it was lopsided.

much of my GSE are custom and made out of posterboard. the rest were printed off of DAC and assembled.
I don't believe that I will be making any of the other concourses at Heathrow, I have not yet finished terminal 5 ( I have to level the roof, and reapply some of the lamination on the windows and add some finishing details ).
