WOW; AMAZING! I'll take a 1:200 one, but it comes without a platoform I hope? This beacon is only in Adeliane, or in lots of aiports like Canada? ATC tower would be great, and some other ideas:
- Moving hanger doors (including hanger)
- Fire station with opening doors.
- Fire trucks with lights
- Moving jetways
- Moving airstairs

These are all for future, as tthey can be very interestin and good sellers. 30$ is fair enough as a motor and lights is very good! Thanks for this and keep up the updates and work, tell your developper to keep up his work! To drink lots of coffee

1. Unfortunately i can remove the platform as its really hard to fit a motor anywhere else but the base, however i will make the platform base a rectangular/ square prism rather than the trapezium shape it currently is, such that it is easy to embed in peoples model airports by cutting a section out of your MDF base.

2.These airport beacons are in airports all over the world, including Canada airports. Although there are many variations, but most look similar.

3. Thanks for the idea's , goes with my thinking that model airports already have lighting but probably need some movement to make them more realistic.
- Moving hanger doors - possible in scale 1/400 and 1/200, will investigate. Do you want doors to open with motor or by hand?
- Fire station with opening doors. - possible in scale 1/200 most likely
- Fire trucks with lights - probably really expensive in scale 1/400 but will check for 1/200

- Moving jetways - really hard to understand how to do this
- Moving airstairs - really hard to understand how to do this
- A runway lighted and having a moving mechanism that can imitate a take off.
- a rotating radar tower like that of heathrow

Lol i will tell them about the coffee :P, although i have been telling them to hurry it up. 1/200 is almost complete, 1/400 requires a bit more time to find suitable materials

cheers guys and thanks for the suppourt

All of that motorized? . I think you might have to come back to reality.

Yeah, airstairs and jetwways motorized, nevermind. Unreal (C-FAIL again).... For the hanger, I think two versions could be made, one motorized and one not, so that people who rather the cheaper one and the open yourrself one, can go get that. Fire station with opening doors would be great! But I think you would need to acquire a small button around the back of it for them to open, but if all of them shall open? I dont know. Fire trucks with lights would be great as well, but open doors would be too hard I believe. But all these ideas can wait, because im sure hey are extremelly difficult and need time and work which require loads of work, thanks!

I don't care that it doesn't rotate I would buy the version with out the base, looks way better. Will the light turn on if you take the base away?

Hey mate, the model with the base is scale 1/200 and rotates and lights, the model without the base is the scale 1/400 model and like the picture and videos show it does light without a base and can be rotated by hand if you want... If your looking for a scale 1/200 without the base and just lighting I'm sure that can be done.., and people I'm looking for some resellers overseas so if anyones interested pm me...

When will the 1/400 scale be available for purchase?

How much will it go for?

It will probably take 1-2 weeks more to complete sample and for me to recieve sample, once i recieve it i can verify quality and give the green light for production to start after which it may take them 2-4 weeks to produce (unless you need it in a hurry, under which i can ship you the sample i recieve. I'm hoping that i can keep the cost for the scale 1/400 under $30, but nothing is confirmed so far, all i know is that it will definitely be cheaper than the scale 1/200. Im not trying to make a huge profit on any of these, so the price i give will be closest to cost price of making the product + shipping cost.

Very cool idea, and I'm sure it would be a great addition to people's airports.

However, would I buy one? No. Only because I think the beacon would only look right if I had other airport lighting to go with it, and I personally am not the kind of person to go that deep into their airport to configure it with lighting. I'm sure plenty of people would go for it, hopefully enough to profit off of it.

Thanks for that.. That was really great insight and I never thgt abt it from that angle.. But the main reason I'm building this is not to get a profit rather because I was frustrated with the lack of models available , my aim is to make just enough to be able to afford to start prototyping a new model. People don't often realise I'm putting a lot of cash into sampling cost(doesn't bother me, I'm an actuary who lives with my parents, so I earn a fair amount with no expenses) that won't be included in the cost of the final product.. My aim is just to increase possibilities for people and create many new products at the ccheapest price possible. Once production has begun for this I will open up a thread for ideas for a second product... Cheers atif. Any other feedback will b great

Interesting project. I can see where Dylan is coming from with his comments and I think he means that the whole gantry is not delicate looking enough to be in scale for even 1:200.

I'm looking at at finding/making 4 floodlight towers for my 1955 vintage London Airport apron diorama. To look right I think each one needs to be hand soldered wire construction or chemically etched brass. Anyone been down this route ?

You can use some Plastruckt Truss Design material (buy some from towerhobbies), something similar to MingJim uses in his hangar to create the structure. Use a Scapel to make truss skinnier once you have finish the design sand it down and paint it silver apply some weathering with airbrush, then maybe use these lights(im not the seller, i just buy stuff of these guys) below they are tiny as your floodlights, since whole lamppost is only 35mm big.

Photo-etched brass is one way to go. I've built plenty of models and even used PEB on scales down to 1/2400, but mostly on 1/285 or larger. The brass makes it fairly sturdy, but it's a bit of effort to work with. Looks great in the end, though...but probably too expensive for this kind of project.

Thinking to that end, though...what if you made some scale drawings/plans of the tower, and allowed modelers to make these themselves? Or even provide this in kit form using PEB. I think it would sell very well, and still be in a reasonable price range.

Hi Mate,

Yes, I have recieved the samples. I have tested the 1:400 model, and have found it pretty hard to change the battery, i have gone back to the company and asked them to fix this, and make it easy for people to change the battery.
for the scale 1:200, i have it at home, but i still need to get a Lithium Ion 7 battery, so that i can test it.
