Default My Custom 1:500 Model Airport

Okay so this is my airport..I know it fails compared to other airports out their..but with a limited budget I'm only able to do so much. Please give me suggestions thanks! At the moment I only have 6 Herpa 1:500 planes.
I will be getting 14 more.

Hey that's pretty nice!!! It's simple, but well done!!! you should get some jetways!!! Or make some custom ones, like I did!

thats actually really good, is that paper you used as your foil? i use paper too, its easier to work with and much less expensive. the only difference is my airport is in 1:400 scale and about 14 times bigger :P

Buy yourself a set of those Herpa jetways. Either the 5x single jetway or 2x double + 2x single set. They work well with the Airport Designs terminal. You could put the jetways around the main terminal and the widebodies can be parked around it instead of just lined up in front with passenger stairs attached.

How was it working with Airport Designs terminal/parts? I am deciding if I should order from that site, or use the Herpa or Gemini terminals.

The thing that I cannot really tell is the size of the Airport Designs terminals. I have 1:400 and the fotos from their site make it seem like the layout will be tight fitting.

Well the Airportdesigns products look much better than Herpa(my opinion). The terminals are perfect..fit into the scale without any problem. But what do you mean by tight fitting?

I agree they look better than Herpa and Gemini.

What I mean by tight fitting is the foto from the octagon terminal has two 747s, and they look to large for the terminal. And some of the other fotos from the site make the large jets appear larger than the terminal, in terms of scale size.

Ahh! Yea. My 1:500 747-100 is as big as the terminal as in wingspan and length. Yeah jumbos are bigger than the terminal..

If you are going to get the AirportDesigns terminal then I'll have to tell you that an A380 is a bit big, you really have to cram an A380 in thier

Ok, thanks.

I am looking for something that will handle my heavies (A33x/B76x and larger). I have about 50 heavies and 30 non-heavies.

I really like their terminal designs, so I maybe will purchase a few terminals to build for a small airport. I guess I will have to keep searching.

How was the assembly of the terminals?

Easy and time consuming. Had to do lots of scoring, scissors aren't the best for this

Yes, I have search the Herpa site and a few other sites. But I cannot find that type of jet-bridge. I am looking for 8 single and 6 double jet-bridges with that type of glass attachment

Well, I will attempt to make a small airport from using designs from them. Once I am done, I will post in the 1:400 section.
