a bit simply ... I began collecting diecast models 1968 ....
and after re implementation of "Schabak" end of the 70th ...
it´s a matter of remembering old times , not just to have "total accurate"
diecasts ...
and a lot of "selft creation" (must) is possible, as except aircraft models
you get in scale600 only some vehicles, available in US ....
any other things self build
(buildings/gangways etc, etc to be made by my self)
For me much more fun instead of simply buying
As someone who started collecting toy airliners in the60s ( models had to be made from kirs) I still like my Schabak and Schuco 1:600 airliners. The scale allows the biggest airliners to fit the palm of the hand. The solid construction may lack detail but is ideal for constant moving to change an airport layout. Shame Herpa chose 1/500.

last week I got 5 additional customs models from a friend of mine.
He ist a specialist in custom making scale600 model liveries .
I´m proud to come a step nearer to display different historic spots of flight services at HAJ on 1965 even if Schabak/Schuco had reached a rangein the past with around
60 different aircrafts and more than 230 diff liveries...
many where missing ...
Love the vintage setting, especially with all the lights!

today arrived my last wishes of custom models from a very good friend,
now I´m able to create much more "snap shoots" of fair and holiday traffic
of the 60th on my little diorama...
Gentlemen,
in a few days my airport layout moves a year forward to 1966
nearly the same time (April 1966) ....
presenting the "Luftfahrtschau" (air show)
running the same 9 Days as the "Hannover Messe"
(world largest Industrial Fair)
during Hanover Fair every 2 years since 1960 also the "Luftfahrtschau" added...
the abbreviation "ILA Hannover" was starting later in the 70th ....
moved 1992 to Berlin .....
