I found an archive of HNL photos ranging from the 1950s to present, and after 1980, the central concourse, home to AA, Western, Delta, Continental, etc, has not changed. In fact, it is 90% similar now to when it was finished in the 80s. So I thought that this would be a great airport to model, as there is 35 years of history, and I have the models spanning back to that time. It is in the works, the building is not yet complete, but the tarmac is almost done. The next big task will be to create the gardens in the triangular shaped courtyard.
Thank you very much. I have made more progress today, but this one is getting harder as the pieces I need to add become smaller. The landside portion of the termal as well as some structural beams are going to make this project harder, but the finished result will look good I hope.
Well, after 5 years, COVID-19 has given me more than enough free time to finally complete this project. I started this as a junior in college, and during the time of the build, my college girlfriend and I had just broken up, so I just sort of lost the motivation to finish it. But after a string of recent model acquisitions, I felt it was finally time to finish this. For the most part, I am simply finishing the areas that had not been finished, but there are certain parts I did a complete demo. I still have some work to go, add some more palm trees and detail the buildings, but it is finally starting too feel like HNL. These pictures were taken indoor, so pardon the quality! I plan to do some outdoor shots for good color, but for now, enjoy HNL in 1992...
Wow, how absolutely fantastic! Superb work, I really hope to achieve something similar for a period LHR diaroma in the future. All those Tristars look fantastic lined up at the gates. Just wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Few shots of my custom Hawaiian Dc-10-10s using Transaero as the donors and replacing the engines with the DC-10-10 engines. Also filed down the wings for the proper wingspan. Sorry for the quality, for some reason I could not get these clearer...
Thank you everyone for your kind comments. This has been one of my dream projects for years now, and hearing everyone’s feedback and kind words keeps me motivated to finish it up. Hope you’re all staying safe and healthy!
