Midland International Airport - 1/400 scale

I have just completed phase 1 of my new 1/400 scale airport. Pretty much a regional base for european airlines but aiming to introduce for long haul flights very soon.

There is parking at the main terminal for anything up to a B777/B747 size at present but mainly used for narrowbodies at the moment.

At the rear of the airport you can see a maintenance hangar. This will open soon to accommodate any sized aircraft for repaints and checks.

I will be uploading more pics very soon hopefully aiming to include every model in my collection at least once

A mainline train service operates from London to Midland International...

Down to business....
The first flight to land at the airport is a Lufthansa A320SL direct from Hamburg. Arriving on time at 9.45am.

It is greeted by a water cannon salute to commemorate the first flight...

She then proceeds to park up at Gate 9R...

Second flight in at 10.05 is an SAS Dash 8 Q400 from Copenhagen...

She is ushered to gate 1C...

Parked up at gate 1C...

Ryanair B737-800WL from Barcelona lands in next at 10.18am

Parked up at Gate 3L....and greeted by an ambulance following an unwell passenger onboard...

At 10.47, KLM Fokker 70 arrived in from Amsterdam....

KLM F70 parks up at Gate 2C...

Monarch A300 arrives in from Dalaman at 11.15am...

As much as I would still love to do the magazine there wasn't much interest in it so nothing planned for the immediate future unfortunately.

An EasyJet A320 is the first aircraft to be serviced at the Hangar. It positions in from LGW. It will receive the new 2015 easyJet livery....

Awaiting attention outside the hangar....

May look at restarting it again this year - possibly as a physical copy instead of online this time round. Bit more of a coffee table magazine in a nice sized format

It awaits it's parking slot whilst the KLM pushes back for it's return flight to Amsterdam...

Both Ryanairs parked up...

The Lufthansa A320SL pushes back for its trip to Berlin...

By lunchtime there were 3.....

and then 4......

Thomson B787-800 arrives in from Cancun....

It then parked up at gate 8R....

I saw your mat for sale on eBay and I was wondering if any of the Herpa buildings would fit as terminals, or is it a custom size?

Latest addition to my collection.

Condor Boeing 757-300WL arrives in from Berlin to operate a ski charter to Canada.

Parks up at gate next to Jet2 757 which recently had winglets fitted!

Yes, the Herpa buildings will fit into the main middle section. This is 1/400 scale but still works with 1/500 if need be

Leased to British Airways for the summer season, this Boeing 767-300WL comes out of the hangar. Due to costs the lower blue section on the fuselage was was not added.

Say, where does your Airport Train on the hall roof disappear? seems to dive into the building but there is no way a train can take such a ramp and go on such a steep incline...
