I have begun a new project in my spare time in my dorm room. I took extra pieces from my LAX model and started to build Nadi International Airport, Fiji's airport. I took the most used space of NAN and started the build, leaving out sections that to me are dead space.
I will post pictures as I progress, most notably in the future is to be trees, cars, taxi lines, people. etc.
You might want to try to place lights on this terminal. It looks awesome now, but it will be amazing fully lighted. Let me know if you are interested. I know where you can buy the materials and I can show you with photos how to go about doing it.

Wow, thats beautiful! Very clean looking and well built. I agree that having lights inside the terminal would be awesome. It would also be neat to see floodlights on the apron.

Funny thing that you were being so modest and conservative in the Air Pacific Engine mod thread but then you roll out something like this and I say too myself - huh? What are you talking about????
This looks spot on and totally professional-up there with Gav's Perth Airport on the 400scale hangar forum which to me is the bench mark for model airports. This really looks amazing and your FJ 744 fits in seamlessly....
Don't ever question your ability....the proofs in your pics.
Added some of the taxi lines, dirt on the tarmac, and began working on the road side, installing some of the cars and adding lines. The hardest part is making the road side. I realize that there are imperfections to the design, I.e paint flaws. All 5 jetways are now installed!
I must say I have been getting a laugh at some of these comments haha. No worries about people coming in here. I had a Herpa Modell Edition A300 that got broken in my absence and I was seeing red when I came back to a broken model. I dont touch my roommates stuff, so I made clear that that rule applies to him as well. Bangkok Lady La, I really appreciate your comment. That means a lot to me, and yes the modified AP gives it a cool realistic touch! SaabsoverSAW, I will be sure to go over how I do it once they arrive! I am new to the LED realm haha. AntonioMartin, well unfortunately, not many airlines period go to this airport, but seeing as How I have been there, this is one airport I have wanted to tackle for years! Of course I see some things to touch up, but that will be done once everything is complete. Some gaps to fill, some paint to retouch, etc.
This is my third airport project, and I am proud of how each project demonstrates what I learn. I have great motivation on here, being able to view such great airports created by members. I wish I could possess some of the talents of other members here. Gavins Perth is the pinnacle of the model airports, and his talent never ceases to amaze me.

I have somewhat completed the road side of the airport, which to me is the hardest part. Im working with subpar pictures to make this accurate and am building what I see, which is seemingly different in each picture. The cars are part of a lot that I purchased from a company called Samtrees - We supplies best quality miniature model trees & scenery products at very competitive prices Highly recommended. If you are seeking 1/400 painted cars, trees, etc, check them out. I have been fooling around taking pictures of the AP bird, I cannot get enough of that model. The whole diorama is coming together!
Love the feeling of the island... Looking forward to your Fiji project as it continues!!

Again this airport just gets better and better.
Living in the South Pacific, I can relate to this theme probably more so than our friends in the northern hemisphere.
The FJ models are looking slick and the tarmac really sets it off.
I'd like to add some constructive opinion ( not criticism ) and that being if you somehow have access to a digital SLR or can get some shots that capture the depth of field or change to natural lighting, that would accelerate the whole vibe of the airport.
Thats what you need - a painting is completed by its frame and the same goes with your airport.
I am blown away by the detail and yes its on par with Gavin's Perth diorama. Thats a major compliment - congratulations.

Thank you for the nice comments! I will get more photos with other airlines soon, and Smoothjazz, I can put a Korean out there, but I only have an A380! And yes Bangkok Lady La, the shots were taken outside. It looks much better than using artificial lighting. I want to see how photos would turn out during sunset.
A MIDAIR emergency involving a sick Qantas passenger forced the world's largest passenger plane, the Airbus A380, to touch down in Fiji for the first time on December 27, 2008. Flight QF12, with 337 passengers on board, was 10 hours and 45 minutes into its journey from Los Angeles to Sydney when a male passenger apparently suffered diabetic shock.
The captain of the A380, which began operations only one week earlier, made the decision to land the jet at Fiji's international airport in Nadi, where the runway is several hundred metres shorter than the one used by A380s at Sydney Airport.

There are a few shots there that just look awesome - almost real!!
That shot of the FJ 744 and QF A330 with the shadow cast over it - thats awesome. The fact that there is very little clutter and the tarmac looks real and true lighting is one of the best realism shots I have seen on this forum. Sensational!
