Does anybody know how to scratchbuild cones in 1/400? Not engine exhaust cones or ice cream cones, but the kind that are placed around aircraft, usually orange in color.

I realize this would be tiny. But since modelers are very clever perhaps an easy way to make these has been discovered.

Try toothpicks.
I bought a box of toothpicks, painted the tip of each toothpick orange, and used a hobby knife to cut the tip off.

I am considering doing some cones in 1:500. I will let you know as soon as I come up with something to make them. I know it's not the same scale, but being such a small detail it might work for both.

Ice cream cones in 1:400 would be fun.

I made 1:200 cones out of toothpicks. It's the best thing to use!

You can buy from hobby shops that sell railroad accessories some plastic ornate fences which have very small cones at the top of each railing. The one I got have about 10 fence sections with approx 50 little cones per fence piece = 500 cones.
I sprayed them white then fluro red, cut them off and then trimmed the bottom to be flat so they don't fall over.
