honestly I thin summer of 2021 is still "early"...the way this pandemic is going...maybe realistic summer of 2022.

"maybe realistic summer of 2022." This estimate is probably accurate. These shows are a massive job to coordinate, and who will set one up, only to have it cancelled later, or suffer a poorly attended and money losing event? This virus will be controlled, but not necessarily in our time frame, Doug

As of now from what I’m hearing, vaccines should be available for COVID-19 for the general public starting next summer. But, I don’t think that means we will return to normal almost immediately, as it’s gonna take months to transition back into our old ways of life, without masks, without the need to social distance, etc. I agree with summer 2022 being the most logical time for collectibles shows, and really any sort of public gathering, like sports events, with max capacity, to return.

I wonder if Airliners International is at risk for 2021 again?

Possibly, but they could still host it with either limited capacity or do it virtually if they really want to do it.

Virtually? That would be pointless for vendors and collectors.

...plus someone may pull a "Toobin" having seen some of the creepy wheezers at shows in the past!

The people watching and odors can be quite entertaining at shows.

even when vaccines are available...i suspect a lot of people will not take it in fear of side effects...etc.

If its this hard to tell people to wear a single piece of cloth or facemask....it would be ridiculously crazy to ask people to take a vaccine.

Agreed with pretty much everyone here...it feels as if summer of 2022 would be our best shot at getting anything resembling a convention.

As much as showing up to a con physically is always the preferred method, I feel as if a virtual con could theoretically be accomplished. When it comes down to it, we mostly go to buy awesome aviation memorabilia at a "good" price. Yes, picking them up and holding them, as well as walking out of the con is a good feeling, but the same items could be had with a virtual con website, as well as heavily detailed photos. It does sound like a massive undertaking, but I feel like it could be done.

Maybe in lieu of charging vendors to be a part of it, the vendors could offer con-only discounts?

Anywayz...just spit-balling here....
