As a non vendor are you allowed to bring models to sell or trade?

I have never tried, so I can't really say. Maybe someone else here can advise on that.

Are model typically cheaper at shows? I mean, I would love to go to meet some people but if the prices are the same as online I don't see a point. I could totally do a day trip somewhere.

You save on tax and shipping, and can sometimes haggle a little on price. Sometimes you find something unexpected too, that is part of the fun. The LAX show has been so-so lately on size so may or may not have the selection you want. The SFO show I think has been pretty good, but I haven't been up there in a few years.

One year a long time back, one of the LAX vendors had a special show discount on a KLM B744. He told me the price and said if I could say it, it's free.

Well my mother being Dutch and father having worked for KLM, of course I could pronounce it. Good times

San Francisco show, though small, is always pretty good as Mike always has the latest releases and some of the harder to find models.

Last LA show I went to held at LAX Hilton wasn't too good. I have heard it is better when held at Long Beach, but have not attended there.

You can register to get tables at any show if not a retailer and there are tables available if you have models or any aviation items you are wanting to sell. It is good to have a credit card reader such as Square, Paypal, etc. as a number of people want to use plastic.

The shows are where the deals are at and sometimes sellers will negotiate with you on price. You also have the benefit of seeing the plane before deciding to buy to see if it meets your level of scrutiny.

Steve Mazanek from Grayland Station on West Devon puts it on at the Elk Grove Holiday Inn.

https://www.graylandstation.com/

His number is (773) 594-1906

He has one of the best hobby shops if you are into planes and trains. If in the Chicago area you should visit as it is always a treasure hunt!

Sounds like there might be at least a small assortment of military model aircraft. I guess I'll place a call to the shop later today and ask.

Okay I ended up visiting the shop and it doesn't sound like it will be my cup of tea. What is on display is mostly civilian model aircraft and airliners. Steve said there could potentially see some military model aircraft but he's been doing these shows for 30 years and that kind of thing is usually in the minority. So since I'm somewhat of a niche guy and only collect model military aircraft (modern aircraft at that) I can't say this show is piquing my interest.

Hi There,
Could anyone tell me if there is a show in Seattle or Vancouver? I remember the Vancouver show being cancelled. Unsure if Seattle ever had a show. I used to go years and years ago to the Houston shows. Those were great!

BlackAces, have you been to Isaiah's site, The Military Toy Shop? He also has a brick and mortar shop located in Ohio near the museum. He may know of more military oriented shows/events near you.
