Now that is pretty slick and cool to have a collectibles show at the museum. Please post some pics of the venue; especially the b767 tables setup. All the best with the oct event! T7

This is a iconic show. for those who haven't attended it before, I'd highly recommend it.

What's more, AI 2015 will be held here next summer as well. With such a unique venue for AI, that should be a heck of a show if they can get a good turnout.

I went to the last two shows and got some models but hardly "iconic". DP

Does anybody know if the Renaissance Concourse is offering a show rate? They have in the past and I am not seeing one offered on any of the official flyers.

Hi all,

I went to the Atlanta museum recently and it is a must for civil aviation lover. You will learn so much about the history of Delta. A few gripes. First, the L-1011 cockpit was closed to the public. Second, they could have used better models on display like Herpa/Hogan rather than from manufacturers making models for travel agencies. And last, the models sold in the gift shop are from FM and Skymarks rather than from higher quality name brands. Overall it was a very nice experience. Hotels in Atlanta area is very cheap even during major holidays. I stayed at the Mariott for 68 bucks a night. DP

Just got back Saturday from atlanta, after having 17 days holiday out there visiting my Brother, visited the museum as my brother works for DELTA and his office is the other side of the road from it, this was the second time I have been there, and was very impressed with the revamp they have done, but I noticed a lot of the displays they had originally had gone, they used to have quite a few 1/400 & 1/200 models such as Northwest, Hughes Airwest, with some history, how they all became part of DELTA, don't know if they were just on lone, but still a great place to visit, plus now out side you have the B757 in the Widget Livery and one of the last DC-9s, and would loved to have been there for the model show in October, would have been nice to meet some of you fellow D A C members.

Great venue, but the show ran out of parking early. Makes me wonder if this was a trial run for AI2015. Hopefully they will have parking/transportation issues solved by then.

As a bonus, simulator sessions in the 737-200 were being sold for 1/2 price. (about $200)

I agree that parking was terrible. We arrived around 9:30 and drove around for about 15 minutes before the guard and one of the DL volunteers told us to park literally 10 feet from the front door! In my opinion, moving the temporary fences should allow for more than enough parking for AI. But, since about half of AI occurs during the week days, they may not be able to make the move to allow for more parking.

Also, since AI is being held in ATL, will there still be a show in October?

Kudos to Josh94JB26 for posting the show pics above! Glad you had a good time Josh at the show and appreciate the photos you snapped from the show. That is really extraordinary of having a collectibles show with all the historic Delta planes. Definite must visit next year. Thank you, T7

according to the promoter, the show has not been cancelled as of yet as he said its up for review since it draws locals..but i tend to agree doesn't make much sense to have it unless the locals have no clue about the intl. show lol
