Airliners International 2014

ROLL CALL..whos in?????

Okay its early but what the heck...great venue..allow enough time for the tours especially Victorville and Mojave. The last time this show was held in LA was 2004 and it was incredible..The DC-3 sightseeing flight from Hawthorne airport was worth the trip alone. We took off headed towards the coast and on down to Long Beach and back over inland for a landing back at Hawthorne..Great viewing from In and Out Burger and the view from El Segundo Hill is also excellent...Sadly the Proud Bird Restaraunt will be shut down and out of business..It will be sorely missed

Ill be there at the Gemini Jets tables look forward to it!

This could be one of the last and best shows. I hate to travel anywhere during prime boating season, BUT this may have to be considered. The last show I went to was Portland and we spent 90% of that zooming up and down the Columbia watching airliners blasting off out of PDX.

I'm definitely in! Didn't know Proud Bird was shutting down...bummer.

Plans are to go for 3 days as of now. I think it would be great to get together in the evenings for food and drink with the DAC/Wings900 folks!

By starting this thread, I think crownvic is now the official DAC activity coordinator while we're in LA. :)

I'm definitely considering purchasing a table for this show. Been to a few AI shows in the past ('96 MSP, '98 SEA, '01 MIA, and '12 MEM), but only ever as a guest. Never been a vendor before. Given that AI is finally in a big market again, I may have to pack up my profile art and see if I can sell a few!

I loved AI2009 when it was held in Orlando. Got to meet some of the faces around the forums too, and boy, I was able to expand my collection significantly too.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to go to another one of these shows again. Like the Train shows I have been going to for the last 5 years, usually something I could buy and some great folks to have a chat with.

No problem Todd. Its parked at the local storage unit here for the next couple weeks but the view is great! Barbed wire fence, gravel, some RVs, etc. There may even be a warm beer or two in the fridge.

Question for crownvic:

Is this show considered the biggest in North America or the globe?

Thank you, T7

The rinky-dink UK shows would be embarrassed.

That settles it! I really now have to see how our American neighbors put on a show. Also, was told by the staff at YYZ AV world that it's a definite must do = check out a airliners collectibles show in the states to really experience this hobby at it's finest. What better than AI 2014 in Los Angeles! I will check with ATC (wifey) to see if departure is granted from London to LAX for this friday. Cheers! T7

What a shame that I moved away from LA last year. I am in SF now, but have work this week. I went to a collectable show at LAX last summer and was underwhelmed. I hope this one is better and comes to SFO or BOS soon.

Just curious = was that 2013 LAX show associated with Airliners International?

^..No Airliners International was in Cleveland last summer. That was a bummer, airfare to CLE was exorbitant and the show turn out was rather small.

Hmmm. We are talking Cleveland right? I wonder if the choice of city had some impact on attendance? How many side trips can you do in Cleveland, Ohio? Compared to a city like Los Angeles. Cheers! T7

Looks like you should be fine for just attending on July 10th with your $7 at the front door/entrance.
