It had been predicted, the only way airlines will be able to survive is by consolidating an already fragmented market. Look at Lufthansa for example who owns Swiss, and Austrian to but a few. Working partnerships is what it's all about.
I for one am pleased. EK are offering lower fares and great service. DXB is used primarily as a hub, connecting Europe and N/S.America with Asia, Africa and Australasia.. If QF's customer base to Europe is shrinking the why not use a carrier who's isn't?
With all of these changes to the market, I see EK ordering more A380's in the future....
