diecast=die-casting, a manufacturing process in which parts are casted together "permanently", ie. no screws or snap fit, materials can be varied, usually but not always metal.

"diecast metal" toy/model was the full designation for stuff made with the die-casting process with metallic material. I remember seing rivet-like attachment poits at the bottoms of my old matchbox diecast metal toys. Not sure superglueing, the most common process nowadays except ih 1/76 model buses, is considered diecasting.

unfortunately, many ppl dropped "metal" and just think sth is "made of diecast"...
