The support fairing at the base of the vertical stab is exactly right as far as design, except it's enormous - scaled way too big on the JC Wings version. This early fairing on the 1:1 A310 was quite different than later widebody airbuses - it was angular and unique in that regard, and as I said, JCW captured that, but not to scale. I agree with your assessment of the thick engine rims - that has been a recurring problem with many 1/400 scale airliners. New AND
