Default Re: The History of Aeroclassics Generation One

My two cents:

Schuco launched their line of 1/600 scale models in 1969 and were slowly expanding their range until 1976 when they were taken over by the DCM group. Remaining stock was sold until 1982 but AFAIK no new models or liveries were released.

In 1982 Schabak was founded and started with several Schuco moulds. They may have acquired all of them but put only some of them to use. Schabak added a great variety of new moulds over the years. Their end came in 2005 and the new Schuco company (refounded in the late 1980s/early 1990s) acquired all of their existing moulds. Some were lost, others were modified.

I agree with Richard that the new Schuco moulds are not on par with their Schabak counterparts. In 2020 Schuco cancelled their line of 1/600 aircraft models.
