It was a beautiful and great aircraft as solid as a rock.
Very reliable and technically speaking very comfortable.
Three people in the cockpit, three engines, three generators, there hydraulic systems ...
Big engines are now available with a lot of thrust, only two are enough to fly aircraft the size of the B 777 or A 350, everything is redundant in these aircraft ...except the engines.
With a problem on one of them, you are in emergency and in the case of an ocean crossing, you may have to wait 330 minutes flying on one engine before reaching a diversion.
Not really comfortable.
Maybe one day we will see another aircraft with three engines but it will be less economical to operate than a twin engine and money is more important.
