With the top half of the model successfully stripped, the stripper was applied to the bottom half as shown. This is called CitriStrip and it completely melted away the paint, decals and clearcoat. There is an odd feature to the model that all the white areas seem to be thickly "plated" with some sort of plastic that is not strippable. I have no idea how they did it, but its's certainly not paint. This creates a barrier with the non white areas, which are down to bare resin. The result is a Hoover Dam where sanding will be needed to make these areas smooth. Apparently Pacmin didnt like masking up for paint in the old days and found a workaround.

After the stripping and finish sanding, the model will then be primed. I noticed some potholes in the bare resin, so putty will be apllied to those areas. More to come......
