Wow, what a great looking model! What a news!
Many thanks, Tim, for posting these photos to this forum!
To BB:
Pleased about your concerns about my life
, but sorry, not this time - this JCW SU-34 is already known project and I will be in real heaven only when we will see pre-pros of decently done Syrian SU-30SM without any substantial mistakes.
However I´m actually very pleased by the look of JCW SU-34 pre-pro so far.
Btw, JC Wings have made good timing with these shots - if HM will paint their first release any less than absolutely perfect, or if the mold will look somehow strange, we have very good option with this. However concerning painting it will be similarly difficult task for JCW - correct paint. And looking on their recent releases I´m afraid that JCW still have quite a way to go. But lets wait and see. I think they know very well that here is no place for mistakes.
Anyway this JCW SU-34 pre pro looks maybe even better than HM to me. What a level of detail on the landing gears! What an ordnance offered! Weapons on magnets!
Also canopy shape looks better than HM´s, and whole model looks sleekier from profile, just as the original Fullback.
There´s no APU in the stinger but this is probably ok as this JCW 34 looks to be an earlier variant than HM´s effort.
Tim, do you know please if these photos are of clay model or already photos of zinc? In other words - is it still time to point out some mistakes to JCW?
I hope tomorrow I´ll have bit more time to check details better, anyway at a first glance:
- pitot tube needs to be corrected - its too short, it looks somehow strange (maybe this is not final spec?) but mainly - it shouldn´t be horizontal when the Fullback is at static, but forward slanted - see drawing below.
- tips of the vertical stabs look like being rather incorrect on the tops (too sloped down?)
- would be nice to confirm if the wingtips rails are correctly slanted down a bit - see SU-34 drawing below.
