Herpa's 1:200 Tu-144S CCCP-77110 was on Pre-order for more than one year, same for their Tu-144D CCCP-77114 @ 1:400 , I had this in pre-order for 6 months til I decided to do a refund, just ridiculous such acts.

A Pre-Order time should not be longer than 2 months max as what Gemini Jets is currently doing.

Anything longer than 2 months should not be acceptable.

Even though I find mostly that if an item is being sold after the release of that particular item, it should be in stock so people can order it and buy it without the need of the pre-order waiting after payment nonsense, there by paying loads of money and then hanging on to that little piece of hope that your item will arrive in a certain amount of unknown time and hoping it arrives without damaged parts etc.
