On the political front, just a silly day as usual on both sides.

On the Antonov Front. Today, Antonov is a Ukranian company, owned by the Ukranian Government and considered a national asset. It had been since the 1950s. Antonov the Aeronautical Engineer was not born in Ukraine though, and the design bureau was originally not established in Ukraine, but in Novosibirsk Russia.

A lot of Antonovs are built outside the country too, largely due to how the aircraft design and manufacturing process had worked in the country since World War II.

So yes, Antonov is a Ukranian company, but with historically Russian Roots. It isn't different with how Sikorsky is an American company with similar Roots (albeit Sikorsky actually came to the US as himself, and established the company long after he arrived (though he designed some designs in Russia during Imperial times). With that said, it doesn't mean that Russia today owns either of them or has any claim to own them.
