Default JC & Phonenix A330-300 Malaysia Airlines NL 9M-MTA

MAS received their last A330-300 aircraft last month. Models was just release by JC Wings & Phoenix. My preference is JC Wings. The print are much better & improved landing rolling gears.

Enjoy the pictures.

Really Raymond?

Just look at the winglets and the cockpit windows of the JC model.
Not to mention the nose shape and all.

Sure you are entitled to your opinion and i always read your posts with a lot of interest (like now). But i guess i have to disagree with you this time.

Arcunia, I am with you this time.... Not only the winglet but the entire wing, JC´s seems to be too much thicker (as their B777 mould) but undoubtelly JC´s A330 is much better than their B777...

This is a tough one. Some collectors have eyes on various details, while ignoring others..
If they made a collaboration say PH's body, nose and wings with JC's gears and paintscheme, it would be a win-win.
Points

Nose: PH
Winglets: PH
Landing gears: JC
Paintscheme:JC (JC darker whereas PH is kinda pale)
Engines: both

But the u.s flag on the jc is a deal killer, dont know who wins but jc also has darker cockpit windows.,

The whole picture is much darker, look at the sky background. So my guess is that the "American" flag is not American, but that the oversaturated blue washes out the yellow bits.

My biggest gripe with the JC model is the undersized A340 engines. My biggest gripe with the PH model is the oversized gears.

I'd say JC wins with the paint job, the right sized gears and the seamless wing joiints, PH wins with everything else.

Overall, I'd say the JC models is a more than acceptable replacement for the PH one if you missed out on the latter. But given the choice, I'd get the PH model any day.

The PH looks like it has been out in the sun for some time.

Interesting photos, still have to say the PH is bet but I will say the JC isn't terrible. Maybe a nice addition for a new collector. I like them both for different reasons, still, the phx wins for me!

I think JC is best with little modells like the F-50, but in bigger modells they donnot stand out.. With the Malaysian modell I think PH is the better one..

Raymond,
9M-MTA is MH's 'latest' A333, certainly not their 'last' - unless they decide to forgo the other fourteen in current batch of orders
imo JC is more accurate on fuselage printing (based solely on where the blue wave intersects window line) whilst PH is more accurate on engine pylon printing
PH also trumps by fact they pasted on that hedious hump atop the fuselage - not very elegant even in real life but then we're talking about as near a representation of the real thing as is possible at 1:400

Definitely Phoenix.

Phoenix's A330 mould is the best available in the marketplace.

Its cockpit glazing and the shape of the forward fuselage are the most accurate and JC Wings' cockpit windows seem to have been printed on a wrong location.

Also JC Wings' A330 wings are thicker and its landing gears not as beautiful as Phoenix's one.

Since releasing its new mould, I have been buying PH's new A330s and I look forward to purchasing the 1:400 Etihad Airways A330-300 "Visit Abu Dhabi" purple airplane!

for me the engines for PHX is still more accurate than JCwings and also slight bended wings. Please compare to real aircraft.

PHX is definitely my choice;since it's more accurate than JC Wings.

... how do u define 'accurate'? Some people might go for painting while others are more keen on the nose shape, wings, engines etc. I've received my PHX A333, and I think the colours are on the pale side. I don't have JC but from the pictures above and assuming they were taken at the same time with the same equipment, JC's might be better. I just don't like the thick wings on JC and PHX new A330/340 have very nice, thin wings, but I think they also sit a little high at the front. Maybe because of the oversized nose gears. But having said that, I would pick PHX version any time

PH for me. The cargo doors on the JC are too unrealistically visible in this scale.
