If they sell as well as I think they will, there will be discounts in the remainder's bin next year. Colorful, yes, but so were the Braniff jellybeans.

With these latest releases (3 TransBrasil 767-200s, 12 TransBrasil 727-100s and
Astraeus/Iron Maiden 757 Ed Force One 2011), my 1:400 collection reached 300 models!

I began collecting seriously on February 2010. So, call me a really INSANE COLLECTOR!

I can't understand your remarks like this. Aeroclassics produce far and away the best 1:400 models and the most interesting liveries. These are excellent models on a pretty decent mould (not perfect maybe but better than the Jet-X and GJ 727-100s).

What is your problem with them? If its because they aren't more tedious eurowhite 777/A330/737/A320s then there are plenty of threads full of pictures of people's boring modern models on here for you to inhabit.

I'd be buying these in a second if they fit my theme and I had infinite room.

Personally i think this kind criticism on these releases is uncalled for. I give AC credit for offering our South American collectors something most manufacturers avoid. Neither GJs nor Jet-X 721 moulds are any better and IMHO.... are far worse than that of ACs. I could go on about the details i dislike of Jet-X 721s, but i seriously doubt we will ever see a "perfect" mould.

What is the problem? AeroClassics is making models that no one else is and these are great colorful liveries.

This is a small community and I think people need to be more supportive. I'm new here and tired of this constant whining and complaining and am seriously considering not collecting anymore. Do I need to know or care when people don't like a release? No. Seriously who cares whether your "wallet will be safe" any particular month. Give it a rest no one cares, but that constant negativity isn't attracting new collectors.

When there is proper criticism (ie. quality control issues, bad printing, etc.) then it's nice to know. But for those of you who are so tedious about technical perfection, go buy the real thing. Nothing scaled down 400 times is perfect.

I know I'm ranting a little, but this is just constant from these negative posters. Many others are great, helpful and supportive but the few bad apples are making this such a lame board.

Verifiying each registration of these six new Trans Brasil 727, I found that ALL of them have WRONG COLORS. .
If somebody know where to find pictures of the real planes wearing the colors used on the aeroclassics, please post.

Howso wrong colours?
Interestingly, Santos seems happy with them and I'd take his word over pretty much anyone else's when it comes to Brazilian releases. No offense.

Actually, seeing the pictures on Airliners.net, several of the models ARE painted the wrong colors according to their regs. Kinda like somebody went to the trouble of finding the colors these planes were painted, but didn't bother checking which ones matched which regs. Typical.

You´re right and wrong at the same time. Let´s go:

# First set of 727s (regular colors):

The PT-TCC is a fantasy airplane because dhe never wore pink wings in her short life at Transbrasil. She came from UAL and had grey wings all the time she was in Brazil.

In this set 3 models are lacking its SCDs and the PT-TCE has a wrong shade of green but if I compalin about this I will be called as a nitpicker. So in this first round of TBA models the -TCC is totally wrong but the others are OK with some of them with minor mistakes. In the end I appreciate the set and orederd 5 out of 6 models.

# second set (jellybeans):

The PT-TYS (blue and yellow) is right. The colors match with the books and Aeroclassics didn´t forget the SCD.

PT-TCA is OK too. Comparing the photo on Adamjets.com site with the one in the REG davis book they are very similar and both with the SCD. In the site picture the shades of blue are lighter but this also happened to the real aircraft as the sun was acting on its belly as the time gone by.

PT-TYT: the colors are right or almost. In the book listed above the orange seems to have turned yellow in the model but again nothing that matters very much on such small model.

PT-TYU: here we have a problem. The model has blue and yellow colors while the real one had orange and green. Major mistake here.

PT-TYP: the model is OK and its colors are very similar to the ones in the book.

PT-TYR: the model has yellow and pink colors while the 1:1 version had yellow and a dark shade of violet but nothing serious here.

In the end I think the second series is more accurate than the first one but I can re-check my info with Celso Gomes Filho (a member of this forum) that flew for Transbrasil for more than a decade and has a big knowledge about its aircrafts and history.

Give me some time and I will be back.

P.S.: forget to mention that I had a couple of posts deleted on 400sh when I complained about the pink colors used on TBA models. They never had a single piece painted that way!

No, AC makes only 1/400 scale, although it's very very first model, made in China, was a 1/500 HK-1 Spruce Goose.

Hi Andrew,

is it true Aeroclassics going to release Merpati - F100? If it's true.......I'm gonna get it for sure. I also think AC make the best 400 scale models.

I think I need to clarify some things because it seems my last post wasn´t enough to do that. I dunno where oto727 found that info. He´is wrong. Let´s see:

My first flight was on board a Transbrasil 727 regular colors in 1982 and the Boeing had orange wings. My second, third, forth flights were also on TBA. After Aeroclassics first batch of 727s released I also made some research on R.E.G. Davis book about the airline (the brazilian airline commissioned that book and he was invited to wright that book) and also talked to some friends that worked for the airline and in the end the models are very well done. Note that out of 12 727s I ordered 11 with only the exception of the PT-TCC that never had pink wings. OK, there is minor mistakes but we must deal with that in such small models and also we might take into consideration that the picture database of classic models is poor and sometimes the research is very complicated.

My opinion: the models are very good and I am very happy about their.

To finish this post I know that the first set of 727 is almost sold out at Adamjets and I am sure thay will be very rare to find out soon.

Happy eatern to all DACers.

Well.. I would love to see some 1:200s, AC seems to be one of the few companies that comes out with models i would actually want to buy in 1:400.. But since I only collect 1:200 it's disappointing. I think a 1:200 line would do really well of classic models and liveries..

You are Rick!! Always have been, and always will be!

I wouldn't use the term "Nazi" too freely, without fully understanding what it really means, and WTF you're actually talking about.
So next time you're at the library to surf the internet, go to the refernce section on HISTORY, look up WWII, and read all about what Naziism really was.

Open comment to the owners of DAC: while you continue to allow these infantile wankers to post freely, your forum will NEVER gain any credibility with anyone, inspite of the nice database you've compiled. Why do you think that anyone who's anybody in this hobby and/or business refuses to post here any more???? Think about it while you're enjoying what is hopefully, a Happy Easter!

From a long time Transbrasil employee point of view, the colors are good.

PT-TCA, TYP and TYS are very good.

PT-TYU, the model orange and green colors are too faded from the freshly painted acft., but palatable for me.

PT-TYT the pink is too clear from the original "almost" red color, but another palatable model.

PT-TYR is the only wrong model, but not for the colors that are right, only for the SCD, the 1:1 scale, a 727-78, never had, at least when she was operated by TBA. The SCD was installed after she was sold by Transbrasil to Evergreen International after 1984. But this error must be credited to the book " Transbrasil an Ailine and its Aircraft" by R.E.G. Davies where the TYR illustration has the SCD.

Overall a good and beautiful batch of TBA 727s "Colorful Energy" paint scheme. A must have for us, South American collectors.

Saudacoes

Celso

A nice and welcomed set of releases. Too bad some are wrong (especially the violet/yellow, probably the one I like most), but I'll take most of them as I never thought I'll see 6 of them at once !

@klein : you really think your 400sh club of worshipers, with its endless wishlist threads is anything but pathetic ? And what are you doing, lurking on this "pathetic" forum, waiting for a prey to jump on like a spider ? Better spend your time on research, it will avoid you too too blatant mistakes...

Despite a fantasy or two color schemes, got to speak w/my Curitan friend (whom just bought the set of twelve), tdy and was happy to tell him about the set of six TB Jellybeans I have on the way! These will join my complete set off BN Jellybean DC-8-62's for a colorful tarmac with an assortment of AC BN 70's,1-11's and Electras Thanks AC - my collection of 1/400 just went up a peg!
PS: Did anyone pick up the Trans Brasil book? Excellent and not very expensive.

Thats great~ I only went for the "Jellybean" versions. Do the 76's have different color wings like the 72"s?

As Santos did, I also purchased from Amazon. If not there, perhaps Ebay. Google it with the word "purchase". That might help you out.

Yup, every 767 has different colors in its wings.

Sheesh.... I know absolutely nothing about Transbrasil and the schemes, but a quick search of the internet revealed photos matching the models on two of three questioned counts in batch 2 (PT-TYR and PT-TYT). And photos matching the described "correct" schemes. So it would seem - the aircraft wore different colors in different years. Dugh.

The only one I did not find a photo of was PT-TYU but I only spent about 3 minutes looking! I'd bet money I could dig one up matching the model.
