Default A question for UK collectors.

Slightly off topic but I thought I'd ask.

With the impending rise of VAT from 17.5% to 20%,for us UK collectors, will this mean that it will be cheaper for us to buy from abroad(US etc)?

Will it change your source for models?

The only issue could be a customs VAT charge which will be higher than before when you are purchasing from countries outside Europe.
Because they will now charge you for 20% instead of 17,5%

But that only if customs check your parcel and the value is above certain levels.

probably won't change. as i collect 1/200 overseas shipping is $40- $50 average. model costs are a lot cheaper, but shipping costs make up a lot of the difference. and as arcunia says, if you have to pay import v.a.t, that's at LEAST another £18 and £8 charge from post office to tell you that you hav to pay a charge!!!!!! :e vil: the only time i buy overseas is if i cannot find it in u.k. or europe.
