Oh good find!

Great set of releases, all appear to be previously unannounced apart from the BOAC Comet 4, which was released several months ago.
Surprised to see a Singapore DC-10, as Aeroclassics have already done two,one with "California here we come" logo and one without and both Dragon and Tucano have done one.
Other DC-10 liveries out there that need to be done.

Love the SAA and Ansett-ANA 727s! Disappointed nothing for the European collector though. Nothing mentiioned about the British Airways A319,A320 and A321 up for pre-order on Aviation Retail Direct's website? Maybe these are exclusives?

Aeroclassics Comets still missing- Dan Air (4 & 4C), United Arab Airlines/Misrair/Egyptair, Kuwait AW, Sudan AW, East African AW, Saudi Royal Flt.

Did a quick search on the database and the previous AC 9V-SDB was the "California Here We Come" logo...so this is a new one. Me like!

Yes, but they have already done 9V-SDA without the logo, which can still be found quite easily. Is there really a need for another one? Would have preferred a livery not yet done like Zambia Airways or Air Zaire.

Many thanks AK.

Does anyone know the shop address for WingsWorld in Shanghai please.
If yes, would you post it for me as my partner is there on business and to be able to get these before next tuesday would be rather nice.

Interesting set of releases.
They are really working their 727 moulds hard lately aren't they?
Pity about the -200, it looks like it is trying to pass a volkswagen out of #2...

Biggest reason why I stay away from their 722 moulds. Klein complains about crappy work from competitors, but when there's an issue with his models, it's ignored or the critic gets slammed. The 721s aren't bad, aside from the wing box gap. But this monthly release looks pretty blah.

I would buy the Air Canada 727-200. That's the plane of my childhood years! Flew it a few times between Calgary and Montreal, Toronto and NYC La Guardia and Toronto-Calgary.

Damn, some great releases here (not the best 721 mould, but neither is GJs). so whats up with AC and all these "N" registrations lately, AK change his mind?

Unfortunately after buying a car, sportier tires for it, and a canopy to park it under today, dont leave much $$ for all these 721s i would love to have

hopefully i can find some change for at least the NE N1638....

Nice set of releases, I was surprised to see another SQ DC10 & I may get one this time, although I don't agree with Adrian that there are plenty still around from the last release (well not in the UK for under 30 inc. p&p).

When I saw the registration (ZS-SBD) of the SAA 727 I thought it would have been in the 70's colours rather than delivery colours, which time they wore the ZS-D.., registrations, which I would have preferred as I remember seeing these as a young boy. I just hope AC haven't done the same 'possible' error that they did with the 707. Perhaps someone could clarify with photo?

I never did fall for the AK with the story of not producing 'N' registration stuff for the foreseeable future.

I can wait for the BA A319/320/321 next month.

I think the AN B721's are very exciting releases and such an important part of Australia's aviation history.

I'm extremely grateful to AK for these models.
To be honest, this months line-up is most excellent.

It sure is the same error as done on their ZS-SAE (should have been ZS-EKV)
This 727 was ZS-DYP when it wore these colors.

And before AK jumps in claiming he has that picture proof somewhere in a Chinese drawer...
Here you go with a proof that SBD in delivery colors couldn't have existed:
Attached is a picture of ZS-DYP after it had just been repainted in 1968. The same year it got the new SBD reg assigned.
That's btw the only picture I ever saw showing an 1968 cs with an earlier 1960's registration.

If the Ansett-ANA 721 was on a decent mould I would be all over it. Unfortunately this one has the skinny tail lacking chord and correct shape. The Big "A" has had to be squeezed to fit.

It looks like AeroClassics has printed the blue line too light and they've incorrectly painted the flight surfaces behind the inspar Boeing Grey (this was only introduced on the Series 200 727s).

However, despite the "modern" looking wing I think this iconic Aussie livery (one of my holy grails) even makes this sub-standard mould look good.

One more boring month. Why keeping on with these releases on old moulds while so many other brilliant ones are left untouched ? I don't get it.
Only the BA Airbuses get my attention, not regular releases though.

Oh no, not again! Surely if you work from photos, this should never happen? What do they do, work from photos then ignore the reg in the '60s photo and then look it up in a '70s spotters' book?

I want to thank you for producing the Ansett B727 as I am extremely grateful you are taking the time to give the Aussie collectors models of our beloved history.
They are going to look excellent on my little Adelaide retro diorama and hopefully I may have 3 or 4 of them in hand this coming Tuesday.

I have done comparisons on the real 727-1 versus the AC version...and to my admittedly untrained eye, the differences are too subtle to sweat. A slight kink in the tail, the tail slopes back a hair too much, the #2 intake is smooth to the fuselage...these are not enough to make me dislike the model. The 727-2 version, though, has that atrocious exhaust cone that makes the plane look like it has a bad case of hemarrhoids.

Well, perhaps I'm just a simple kind of guy that can be grateful this was released and be happy with my purchase because I can't be bothered getting so anal as some.
If that's what floats their boat and they like to constantly write and complain and then read their whining on the forums, very nice but maybe they should get another hobby....like knitting or taking drugs.

I'm just so fascinated to see all of these N-registrations.

I mean, hasn't AK been talking about how 'Obamunism' or whatever he calls it is wrecking the US economy and thus making US subjects hard to sell?

Yet look at all these releases with N-registrations.
And on this so-called less-than-optimal 727 mould.

I'm glad his words are much like those of politicians and the media - lots of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

I just stocked up on PA and NA and NE and I'm loving it.
Plus I am glad that, despite his reminding me, years ago, in a wish-list thread, that he had produced an Air Canada 727 and why hadn't I bothered to get it quickly enough, here comes another one to fill in my Air Canada fleet.

So, nice set of releases.

Tim, on your recommendation and after seeing some other photos of this model I have decided to order one from Terry. Despite my reservations about the tail shape on this mould, I think AeroClassics have absolutely nailed the Ansett-ANA livery. The nose looks particularly convincing with the cockpit printed right in the sweet spot (not too high as is often the case).

I'll judge this one when I see it "in hand".

Looking forward to getting mine shortly via one of the forum members, and its looking pretty good to me too. Now in gunna be greedy and hope one is done in the red-delta livery and my history of Ansett 727's in Australia is almost complete!Eastwest versions X 2 could be done, and also rainbow serpent as an extreme rare scheme, oh and the VH-RMZ in TAA camel hump livery, but thats getting really picky.

I'm thrilled with the model and sitting on the ramp at little ADL, it's is most excellent!
The AC B721 is very good IMO and if there is any issue about the thickness of the chord on the vertical stab, to me, it is completley negligible at this scale.

What is very interesting with this one is the red is quite a dark almost heading to pale burgundy and having trawled through quite a lot of reference material, it appears to be quite correct as the original Ansett's were a derivative of the Braniff's and it was later that AN started to head to a brighter shade of red.

Steve K perhaps you can confirm.

Next installment....
I did put a DW and this AN B721 tail to tail this morning and I honestly think a blink man would be chuffed to tell any difference.

I'll try to take some pics tonight with the other Ansett models (727s and DC-9s) and put them up.

Look forward to seeing the "dawn of the jet age" at ADL (perhaps with the retiring DC-6B in the background? )

Deffo a darker, deeper red as you say, it was not a light/bright red but deffo a darker deeper shade for sure, according to many picys and slides I have seen anyway.

I'll judge this one when I see it "in hand".

Gavin,
I respect your views on many moulds because they are generally supported by specifics and not emotions but in this instance, I'm pleased you jumped in.
As for this little gem, it is oh so sweet and oh so 727ish.
About the livery - even the small cheatlines on the nose taper downwards at the front like the real a/c.
The nose profile is excellent, u/c is petite and you know, I never knew about the boeing grey only being on the -200 until mentioned here so to me, not an issue.

Thought this may assist for people wanting to see the real a/c.
One for you Gavin as the pic is taken at PER.

Now I'm going to sound really anal, but as "kewl" as it may sound to say the photo was taken in July 1969 ("the same month man landed on the moon", wow!) it was obviously taken a lot earlier than that because the aircraft is not painted with conspicuity markings around it's overwing emergency exits.

The observation deck is under construction in the foreground which leads me to think this photo is circa 1962, shortly after the terminal opened.

I'm amazed you didn't have that picture.

Here is the AN B721 arriving at little ADL and a new era of air travel is ushered into Australia.
The old mode of transport is there to welcome the first of the Ansett-ANA Golden Jets.
Other may critique this release (so be it) but when I see it sitting on the apron at my little ADL, I'm thrilled to be able to add to, and capture another piece of our wonderful Australian Aviation History.

I do love the details of the AC Airbus 320 series . Those Air China s are irresistible ...simply love them and all will be wellcome to my Air China fleet. I hope AC solved the problems with the landing gear details and wings.
I do not understand why AC releases whole series of one type of aircraft of a specific airline ... like these Air China A319 ,A320 and A321. ???

Wonderful photos mate. There is nothing quite like a diorama based on a real place I can recognise. Those concrete hardstands in the apron are so Adelaide.

And the era depicted is my all time favourite - the "transition" period with piston-engined and jet-powered airliners sharing the apron. They look great together. Just need the obligatory TAA T-jet parallel service to complete the scene.

Thanks Gavin,
The realism of your PER diorama is something I am aspiring to.

Here are a couple of additional shots of the B721 and a refresher shot of my little ADL.

You may remember I was building a modern airport which I designed to sit over the top of ADL and which could be lifted off at liesure. Well, here is a shot of it removed and sitting on the floor tonight so I could take the AN pics.
Still a work in progress but getting there. Uuugh, just another project on the go but I think you are about as bad as I am having multiple things on the move at any given time. My little Space Port is also still being worked on.
