Received my model today. I checked the angle of the wings and they appear to be normal. Might just be the photograph or that model...?

Just compared my model to the first photograph. I lined it up and compared the starboard side wing. The model that I received definitely has a lower wing angle then the one photographed.

The Angle of the wings on that thing is Crazy! Otherwise the mould looks great! The Nose looks very nice.

Two problems with this model:
Wing angle and stabilizer for a -300 not -600. The -600 uses the same stabilizer of the A330-200 and should thus be a little higher. The cockpit is very nice. But the wing angle is a headache to fix.

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, but if these pictures are anything to go by then Herpa's new A346 mould is much more accurate - especially the engines.

I like how they added the GPS dome on the roof, not sure why didn't they do it on the 330/340 mould.

That's a seriously scary dihedral! Really hope that's a one-off or a photo issue. Did you order from Air Paradigm? My model hasn't arrived yet.

I like that the modeled the strakes on the engine cowlings.

Guys,

Even with these problems, this is still a considerable improvement over the previous GJ/PH A346 mould, or would anyone disagree?

Some of those PH747s & 777s' engines have touching ground issues. However, it definitely not apply to this one.

Some issues but definitely a huge improvement overall. I especially like how thin are engine strakes and winglets, and the landing gear.

i like it... looks even better than the Herpa mould - i am hoping for Qatar and Etihad next! cockpit, wing bent ok - the only real point of criticism is the windowline in the rear which is straight and has to go upwards...

Even inflight the A346 doesn't have that severe wing flex.

The wings aren't so much flexed. They are straight but angled upwards. It doesn't look good but hopefully its only a 1 Time thing.

Tried to get a better one with right wings angle, but the retailer said not sure there is any right or better one in stock

Honest speaking, rather to get rid of this model if the wings angel is such terrible.

Well then the retailer should have at least randomly opened 1 or 2 boxes and see if both had the same issue.

I got mine, honestly this is sadly one of the worst models I have purchased. Either the wheels are crooked or the cockpit print is crooked I cant really decide, bigger than normal gap between the wing and fuse, flaking paint (due to the wee problem, see next), and this wee problem:

In the cradle it looked fine, just some larger than normal wing/fuse gaps. I took it out and the noticed the wing was loose, and it popped out. It didn't seem like there wasn't enough (any?) glue there to hold the wing in.

I got a Hogan SA A340-600 in the same order and that one puts the PHX Luft A340-600 to absolute shame. I guess I could shoot some gloss white where the wing chipped due to separation, you can sort of see where the paint chipped on the wing if you look at where the leading edge would meet the fuse. This one made me mad Phoenix, at least my two Dragon Air A330s are nice.

I don't think this is a QC issue by Phoenix, just some major flaws on their A346 mould and I hope they heavily revise it before doing another release. For the mean time they should probably just stick with their old mould.

Thumbs up Re: Photos sharing -- PH Lufthansa A340-600

I just recd mine. It didnt have a crooked cockpit or the upturned wings. I can post pictures of mine if you'd like to see.
IMO this must go down as one of the most phenomenal releases of recent times. I am completely gobsmacked by how well they have nailed this.
This A346 blows every other mould miles away...yes, even the Herpa or DW ones. Its the first model in 1/400 I have seen that has finally got the Airbus wide-body nose right..infact, better than the Aeroclassics A300s.
Heres what you get :
Perfect nose.
Super-thin wings and winglets
Thin engine strakes
Perfect vert stab(see the small notch in the trailing edge!)
Amazing landing gear
Incredible details like the swirls on the spinners...puts many a 1:200 to shame.

Folks, lets usher in a new era in 1/400 models. Great job Phoenix!

No, infact some manufacturers which has horrible moulds for an aircraft but it has a very solid piece of product with no crooked parts or bits falling off. For this case, the new A346 mould is brilliant(apart from the steep wing angles) but the product is very fragile and things break easily.

I got mine today. Superb model. Wings are not crooked and don't have excessive dihedral. Blue color looks right compared to Dragon Lufthansa releases, though the grey is a bit dark. There was a slight gap between one wing and the fuse but I managed to fix that by nudging the wing back in. One of the winglets is just slightly chipped though. I agree that the nose is as perfect as one can expect in this scale. The other highlight for me are the strakes on the inboard sides of the engine nacelles. This is the only time I have seen them done to scale in size and thickness in this scale. If only they had printed the upward kink of the rearmost cabin windows correctly and if they had modeled the SATCOMM antenna instead of painting it on, and a lighter grey on the belly/engines/underwing then this would have been an absolutely perfect model. Still, I'm not complaining. This is vastly superior to the reg-less Dragon release.

Great pics ratmigs, thanks. Just a question; is the paint on your Lufthansa titles bubbling off the surface of the mould?
