Default What is the Cheapest online retailer?

Which online store has the cheapest prices on models? I am looking to buy an 1/400 A380 to display next to my 747. Also, I saw in air paradigm a lUFthansa a380 for about 26 dollars or something i am sorely tempted... any other cheap stores?

IF you're in the US, paradigm and jetway are usually cheapest, but if you want to be sure, I'd still shop around and check out everybody else; there could be a clearance somewhere.

Well, with the Airline Museums new promotion. They would be the cheapest. There new promotion is that if you find a cheaper price elsewhere they'll match it, and beat it by a dollar! Plus there having quite the sale right now.

Justplanefun isn't bad for some things. Others it is way cheaper to go to Michael or Nick at airparadigm or jetwaymodels

wow, that's really aggressive by airlinemuseum. hadn't checked them out recently.

looking at the sale - that PBA YS-11 has seemingly been on every retailer's clearance rack for at least a year. I guess nobody wants it.

Try being in the U.S. and buying something from Germany or France. It's even expensive for Europeans to ship within the continent. It seems like the only countries that seem to have reasonable and expedient shipping for the U.S. (considering the distance) are England and (most of the time) Hong Kong/China.

Then again, there are those jack***es on Ebay (whose countries I will not mention) that seem to think charging a flat $30+ to ship one Hogan across the Atlantic is good business sense. I understand $20-30 from Asia, but Europe...puuuuhlease.

As with all purchases, you have to shop around and shipping charges do vary. However, JPF's shipping is often more than the price of the model, whilst other dealers that want repeat business ship one or two models for $12-$14.00 from US to Europe.,which is quite acceptable. I will buy again and again when good service and acceptable shipping is foremost.

CAM is well established but their price is way up and no friendly customer service at all! They list quite many stuff online but when I ring up, they are all out of stock and ..."we will see if we can order it in for you".

Myselft (www.jetspro.net) ...going to do 20% OFF for all forum members if people register and join newsletter! All welcomed cannot say that people in UK can compete well with the State but shipping is more friendly to Europe countries.

does anybody know how the 'shopatron' thing at the GJ website works? I never used it. Does it look through all the other retailers to see who has it in stock?

If You Want To Find A Cheap Retailer, Try Airplanereplicas.

Yes true, but to be fair Airplanereplicas is a canadian website, The retailer isnt the one setting the prices at canada post, look at ebay canada and just look at any item, it is expensive to get anything from canada.

If you do buisness with Airplanereplicas they provide good sevice and can suggest ways to help with shipping.

If you choose any retailer be sure to stick with one or two all the time and not just flucuate between retailers to save a few $ because a few retailers i know do different little things for there customers if there customer is showing loyalty and buying every month.

I recently contacted a retailer for my Aeroclassics this month and had them put aside with no problem of being sold out and haveing to pay stupid prices on ebay, My retailer also takes a interest in what i like to collect, He knew i was looking for a few models and offered them too me,

Yes great sales for the retailer but didnt take much to twist my arm, Retailer gets a sale, i get my models and i save time and money by not haveing to go elsewhere or pay high shipping on ebay.

Try diecastairplane.com they have good prices also. They also have a discount code if you join wings900 forum. I have bought from them before and had no problem at all. But all the others listed I have used with no problems at all also. Its all in the customer service when you do have problems, You know, how they will take care of the issue.

I've found Jetwaymodels.com to be the best overall. Nick provides 5 star customer service and his prices are the best. I like to look at the whole picture when it comes to making a purchase. I'm a very good shopper overall, and buying from the "cheapest" does not always pay off. I purchased a couple of models from another online model retailer who has good prices, but the service was just not there. I also found their was next to no quality to control and when I received the first of three models, the tail fin was broke and the box was poorly packaged. I sent an email regarding the broken tail fin and never received any response.

I did a lot of research before I bought my first 400 scale model three years ago. Nick was wonderful. He answered all of my questions I had , was very nice, helpful and sincere.
There was an incident here in my apartment where the landing gears of my DW Avianca 762 "Pasion" fell out and were long gone in the carpet. I contacted Nick about it and he got ahold of the landing gear parts for me. I'm very appreciative as I know this was probably not an easy thing to do.

I'm a real stickler when it comes to customer service and here in Los Angeles, service does not exist period 80% of the time. Nick has gained a customer for life . Thanks, friend.

Regards,
Jeb

Nick he isn't lying, you are great. Last Tuesday I ordered the DL and AA 763WL from you, you processed the order within hours, shipped out out same day and I got in in Dallas on Thursday, thats excellent service. I also like the fact that you send email letting you know order was received and when it shipped out with tracking info, top notch!

This happened mostly because your timing was insanely perfect.

The truth today is that I am backed up several days on shipping due to many new model arrivals that need full inspections.

I'll put in a word for Nick. My spouse wanted to buy a model for me, as a surprise. Had no idea where to go, how to do it. She somehow found her way to Nick's, and I think he helped her figure out what she was doing - scale, etc. For somebody who's probably going to be a one-time customer.

Thank you, saladin. I think she is the best. From the sound of the forum, many wives do not understand this hobby. Mine is happy for me to do it. Although I don't buy nearly as many as some of you high rollers.

Heck im with you! only have six models with one broken. Although i have spotted a surprisingly cheap gemini malaysia a380... Ill build my collection though, im still really new to this.Anyway, i only hope when i get married my wive will be as forgiving. Some like it because they think its cute and stuff while other spouses may become the devil if you tell them of a model you like

Her's was probably the first email I read that day so I was still in a good mood. Usually my days go downhill from there and I become a grumpy old bastard.

It's all good now as I am on my 2nd Corona. So the day went from good with warm coffee this morning, to stupid and hot (90F) and now better with cold brewski.

You inspect the models before you send them out?. That is great if you do. I bought a DL777 received it with one of the wings installed wrong about 1/4 taller than the other, very noticable. I sent it back for a new model received the new model and the nose gear was bent at a 90 degree angle where it comes out of the upper part of the gear. Luckily I was able to bend it back without snapping it. Guess if I went threw you all of this would not have happened.

I may or may not catch a wing that is 1/4" off, and I doubt many other retailers would either. If the 777 you mentioned was 1/200 then I would have caught the nose gear, but probably not on a 1/400. When I said 'full' inspection I was being a tad facetious because there simply isnt time in the day to spend viewing every model from every angle.

Well, you're free to come and take a look...
All prices mentioned are incl. VAT, so no surprises and you can give the custom boys some spare time
