Herpa South African 747SP release date?

Can anyone confirm that this model has now been pushed back to a November release.
I thought it was too be released in July?

Lemme tell you, with my experience with herpa 1:500, this is in NO way surprising. Some models got delayed as much as 6 months. They have been having this issue for well over 3 years now if I'm not mistaken.

I should of known it would be delayed.

Been waiting for this model for years - so whats a few more months.

Can't blame much as it's the factory that cause the delay.

Differences in livery than the GeminiJet South Afrikan 747SP. I have that one and like it a lot.

I've got that one as well - its nice but this one is the ultimate.
I think I posted a thread over 5+ years ago asking for this model.
It kinda worked - BB released the 747-200 in this scheme which is one of the nicest releases ever in my opinion.

I paid $100 for the BB400 release when one showed up last month. First time in more than three years that I pay this amount for a 1/400 model. I let it slip away when released. But indeed a great model and a great colour scheme!
The Herpa SP is on order. Looking forward to it.

..... They will make a nice pair when you finally have both. The SAA 747SP is the only SP in my collection.

I ordered mine in July and was told it won't be available until December. That's ok because it's well worth the wait. Lets see.....I brought plenty of airline magazines, a few books, two cases of Jack Daniels and some beef jerky. That should tie me over 'til then.

Did I hear the the finished version will have a polished belly, can someone confirm. It looks awful otherwise & not like how I remember their 747SP's. SAA were always known for having their aircraft in excellent condition. Probably because they spent so much of their time on the ground the staff were able to do this.

Yes - this will be a polished version from what I have heard.

I wonder if Herpa may roll out a Qantas version......dream on!
