Great to see AC is doing more Aussie releases and I am quite sure those would be instant sell outs.

The Ansett Australia (flag scheme) VH-ANB 727-200 and the Pacific air B727 are of particular interests to me. Will seriously consider them but might wait for a pic or two first.

Funny how there are more Australian releases than ever before...!!!
Saw the DW Qantas 707's today!!! Nice

This is going to be costly.

Thanks AC for doing these - nice effort!

Gavin,

Are any of these candidates for your Perth model? I haven't seen an update for it in a long while...probably my favorite diorama on here.

The only one that fits my diorama's time frame is the "shooting stars" version, but I have already done one for myself on the far superior DW mould.

The final scheme version has already been done (very well) by DW also (although it doesn't fit my diorama's time frame, I bought it anyway because I particularly like this scheme). I deleted the "final flight" text from the side of the fuselage:-

Does anybody know what kind of plane(s) Ansett flew from Sydney to Darwin around 2001? I flew this route and I the only thing I remember that it was a narrow body.

Normally that route would have been handled by a 767-200 or -300.

By 2001 the 727s were history. If you did fly narrow body it was either an A320 or a 737-300.

Seems the hard lobbying was finally rewarded. Boring releases for me, but I guess they make sense for many others.

Now what about a French Classics series ? Maybe followed by a Belgian Classics, then a Spanish Classics, then an Italian Classics, then a Nepal Classics, then a Vietnam Classics, then... then...

I don't think you can right after joining. You could put your pictures somewhere (Flickr, etc.) and post the links, I believe.

What a shame all these Australian subjects are coming out on inferior 722 moulds while the best 722 mould gathers dust somewhere!

C'mon Dragon Wings, where are you!!!

DW must be in a coma, the great 727 mould lay in waste, sadly but its true, we must appreciate the other manufacturers efforts to try and satisfy our passion for these 727's, but on a less than almost perfect mould, its a love is blind situation unfortunately. I will buy some of them simply because its pretty clear DW won't be doing them.

DW made some Ansett 727's, so there is some precednce. And yes, I agree, the Aeroclassics 727 mould is junk -- it's a huge shame that they are the only ones who've ever made a Singapore Airlines 727. I just couldn't get myself to buying that model even if I could find one.

I will be getting these too.

Between AC's 727s, the AV 400 727s, the Dragon QF 707s ad a few other models than meet my collecting criteria it is going to be a very expensive few months.

Which twin stripe is that mate?

On the subject of JC Wings, their version of Coral Islander will be well received by those who missed out on the AC version when it is released.

was posted a photo of a JC wings liveried ANSETT L188 with the revised early 60's scheme- Electra MK 11 as I recall it being known as and one of the longest liveries carried on that airframe, why it was not done before baffles me, so all that remains is a pax version in Red delta 70's cols and we have the set complete, asides RMG as a frtr.

It was listed as 1:400 on the retailers site, however that may have been a typo.

Grab the AC if you can, knowing that the AV version may not come in another 6 months or longer after the announcement.
