Very nice, but the blue cheat line looks too bright. Compare with this pic.

Ah! I am glad you posted that Adrian as I thought the same thing & I bottled out of posting an earlier reply to this thread.
How do these colours compare to the recent SAS DC10 released? I thought the same too of this model. The all metal DC9 version blue also apears too light.

I say, rush and obtain your samples !!! The picture on top of this thread is NOT correct.
The model is darker blue in real, in fact it matches LN-RKA perfectly ..... Well, my all metal
version may look a bit brighter, but I think this is nothing but an illusion...

I'm glad to see your post, because I'm tired about the critics of poor photography!!

And I'm no less happy to have 3 different SAS DC-9-41s , 2 in dragon livery as well as the "Janne Colors"
present on SE-DAR !! Hats off... Now, I'm waiting for the DC-8(s?)

I'm happy to read that the color in the photo is wrong, because not only is the color too bright it is also the wrong color. In the first post there is a SAS logo next to an AeroClassics logo. The correct color is the steel blue color of the SAS logo while the color on the model in the photo is the bright pure blue color of the AeroClassics logo.

While I'm at it, the previously released DC 9 in the newer colors lacks the golden outline around the letters just as the 767-300 does. If herpa can get this detail correct on their smaller 500 scale models, it should be doable in 400 scale as well.

Otherwise the models look very nice. I like them

Wow, that's pretty strange due to the fact that my sample of SE-DAR
has got that "golden shadow". Could some of the models have been shipped out without it ?

I have now studied my example of SE-DAR using strong light and a magnifying glass. It appears that you are right, it does have a slightly visible golden shadow. Too slight in my opinion but never mind. My sincere apologies. Perhaps I need new glasses.

Color always changed, it depend on the light. A real plane color also changed it depend what time you see with sun or without sun.
Take a look at the real plane Virgin Atlantic and see at different time the color what you see will not be the same.
I would say AC is one of the best product I can get in the market, so I don't complaint, I see them nice then I buy them.

Sanny,

I understand the point that you are trying to make but I would suggest that Virgin Atlantic is a poor selection with which to make your case. Like the latest nwa paint, the Virgin colors are going to appear vastly different, depending on the light. It's part of the very composition of the paint that makes this so.

In the case of this SAS DC-9 model, and the real aircraft, you would not really expect the same level of variation in hue, as you would on a NW or VS 747.

Hate to be a "thread necromancer", but is it me or is the port side tail logo on this puppy ginormous compared to the prototype?

If so...Oops...bought his one today.
