After the gorgeous Aeroclassics Coronado releases I am sure they will give up of releasing the same model as they have previously announced.

Why, not everyone may have been able to obtain the AC version and since when has the fact that a model has been previously released EVER stopped a manufacturer releasing something?

Is it me or is AV400 releasing models that we are really hoping to be released by AC?

It's called an illegally pirated copy of the AeroClassics mould.
I wouldn't be so quick to be sure of those releases they have listed; the World 707 never appeared, and considering AeroClassics has not yet announced Jan or Feb releases, one might be surprised to find what our releases may be!

Perhaps AC is releasing those same models, and in advance of the illegal AV400 copies (707 mould)??

Time will tell!

Considering all the AC models are still available, one would be a fool to release the same things on an already saturated market!
They are already fools if they think they can get away with illegally copying some of AC's moulds, and compete with them!
For their own self-preservation, they'd best stick with 747,767,L1011 etc.

I am trying to remember what you had told me the other day, AK. Which way goes the 732 mould?

this is a reason why you should soemtimes give more notice on your releases, if you do plan to do these soon im sure people would much rather wait for the superior aroclassics release but when you just spread word rather then evidence it can help feed the pirates , im sure you have reason for keeping releases secret but we all know your releases quality would speak for themselves even if pirates tried to muscle in .

dont have any AV400 releases and with those announcements wont be haveing any soon

Unfairly you have accused Av400 of piracy. There are some issues with regard to the 707 and the Cv moulds but the 747, 767, DC-10 etc are owned by the factory, as I understand it, and all of the Boeing moulds are licensed by Boeing. How does this qualify Av400 as pirates?

I saw the Seaboard 707 and it is not a copy of the Aeroclassic mould. It is probably the ugliest 707 mould I've ever seen. I'll definitely wait for Aeroclassics.

I'll Be Definitely Getting The Alia. It Looked Good On The Inflight 500 Mould & The Inflight 400 Being AV-400 Now Using Big Bird 747 Moulds (Hell, Confusing Ain't It?) This Model Should Be Pretty good.
The Kuwait Looks VERY Nice Too But Not My Cup Of Tea.
The Jury Is Still Out On The DC-10 & L-1011 (Can't Understand How Some Of You Blindly Get Excited Over These Unproven Moulds) , But They Are Releasing VERY Wanted Liveries.
Bet They Get The Color Wrong On The Saudia Like Every Other Saudia Model In 400 & 500 Scale History.

Why is it unfair? Granted, you're in business to sell their garbage, but the fact remains, they did illegally pirate several moulds, including, but not limited to the 707, 737, 880, 990, & Caravelle! They have admitted to it!
That makes them, by definition, pirates!

One Thing Is For Sure. If The AV-400 707 Is The Same Quality As Yours, They Will Be Quite Cheaper.
Av World Sells Your 707s For 39.95. The AV-400s Will Prolly Be Priced Like Gemini. 23.95/24.95.
People Will Certainly Take That Into Consideration When Buying.

The Seaboard World and South African 707s look like they are from different moulds (?)

The HF antenna on the fin of the SW looks shorter than the one on the SAA (perhaps it is just broken?).

The wing / fuselage join line around the wing root fairing on the SAA is identical to the AeroClassics mould but the fin appears taller. Camera playing tricks?

Gavin

This is the standard AC mould (custom painted in SAA):-

Partial pirates, perhaps? Which is why I asked about the 732.

I've bought the Ghana DC-10 and the Kuwait and Alia 747's. Just waiting for them to arrive and will post some detailed pics.

I've gotta have that Saudia L-1011. I've been waiting ages for that a/c in that livery in 1:400 and now its here. The KAL DC-10 and SAA's are on my list too.

Seems you're blindly getting excited over unproven moulds as well. those 747s pictured have a look different than the BB one, especially around the wing seam(unless its just putty filled, ala BBx).

Not As Blindly As You Think.
1) I Saw The Inflight 500 Version First Hand. Looks Good. IF-500/400 = AV-400
2) The Mould Is NOT Je Repet NOT Blue Box. It Very Well Resembles The Big Bird, Matter Of Fact I Think It IS The Big Bird With A Puttied Seam.
It's Possible It's A Copy, But It Looks Pretty Good From Here.
3) I ALWAYS Look At A Model Before I Buy.

Everyone has released poor moulds first, and others have come in later and re-released models which are better.

Conversely, there are good moulds / livery combo's out there that have been released and that has not stopped others from following up with dogs.

Every company is equally culpable. None is above reproach.

Think I'll wait to see these 'in the hand' before deciding to buy! They all look a little 'odd' in some areas, but I have been deceived by photos before. The SAA 707 looks better than the Seaboard World one for some reason, but neither look anything like the AC moulds.

at least the L1011 looks to be an original mould and not a pirated knock-off of the Gemini mould I so despise. seems it might even have Mr. Heavy's coveted S-duct more accurately moulded.

The moulds look good, however, i'm upset they had to do the 74 GE engines the same way as AC! They should really look the same as the GE's on the DC10.It's exactly the same engine!! AV400 start taking note now, before you go into full swing!

That's because the picture of the SAA is a picture of the Inflight200 model, not a 1/400 scale

What about the House Colors 737-200? Is that an IF or an AV400 model?

How did you do that? The 707's haven't come out yet, so why would they be priced so cheap?

The AC 767 retails for anywhere between $36 to $41, whereas the AV400 BA 767's are $35.00. One DOLLAR less.

Also keep in mind that Av400 has higher production runs, and since they copied the 707 mould and have yet to create an original mould, they have no overheads.

I Think It Was Zack Or Peewee That Said AV 400 Will Be Priced Similar To Gemini.

At whole sale the AV400 are 5% higher than GJ are. When mark up is added the difference should be the roughly the same 5%. Unless retailers are charging a premium for the AV400 the price should be roughly the same for both. I cannot speak for the AC because I do not buy them at wholesale. Logic suggests to me that the AC would naturally be higher in price because they are made in smaller numbers. Pricing does not seem to affect sales because AC still sell well at the price they are priced at as do Av400 and GJ.

GJ are really a bread and butter, so to speak, product. All of them sell well and they have a great shelf life, meaning that what did not sell this month will probably sell next month. Av400 is too new for me to know anything about, with regards to sales but for the time being they are selling well and they are price competitive.

I might need to raise my AV400 767 prices then. I have them at less than $27.00 without shipping added. I can't get to $36.00 even with domestic shipping but I could if I added international shipping. But is your $36.00 to $41.00 range including shipping or not?

Hey Peewee, you have the AV400 Kuwait 747 now, so can you tell us how you find it as compared to the AC and BB400 versions? If you prefer you can PM me your reply or reply here either way. I'd be most interested in knowing.

You Might Want To See How The Prices Level Off Across The Board First.
AV World Has A Tendency To Sell BBX, Shadow Companies, Off Brands & Likely AV-400 At Premium Prices Faheem Mentioned. As For The BA, Those Might Be A Cash Cow Premuim Simply Because They Are BA & No One Else Is Making Them.
Threshold On The Otherhand Just Up The Street From AV World Sells Their AC 707s In The Vicinity Of 30.00 Vs Av World's 39.95.
I Questioned Mark At Av World & He Simply Said, "Well We Will Only Carry A Limited Number For Those Willing To Pay. If We Can't Sell Them With Those Mark Ups, We Simply Won't Be Carrying Them. We Won't Be Price Matching Anymore"

I'm Off To Threshold Today For A Look See.

The AV400 models that are available here in Australia (the BA World Tail 767s) are roughly comparable in cost to Gemini's 767s, definitely not unduly more expensive.

I bought the AV BA 'Vaves of the City' and it's a very nice model indeed.
They are comparable in price to most others and I happily paid the price.

It also depends on whether the individual is prepared to pay $3.00 'ish more for a model than he/she would normally pay if it means getting a model specifically wanted for a collection versus just buying a model cause ya need a fix.

Also remember that AV400 767 is similar to the BB400/AC 767 mould. The detail is far better than the Gemini 767 and has smaller production runs (750 AV400 vs 1000 or 2000 that Gemini do on an average model)
