If they can make a Volaris (small low cost airline), why can't they make a Mexicana????

Thumbs down

Pass. The tail markings look like something got censored on the tail. Maybe a picture of a breast ? Black on an airliner is not a good look, unless it's an accent stripe or on the nose, an anti-glare patch. All in all, pretty boring .

Completely agreed with you, GJ has produced almost all the Aeromexico's fleet (continue waiting for the MD80 bare metal livery) and now Volaris, completely unexpected.

Except the magnificent DC10-15, what happened with Mexicana, specially the 727's!!

They have done the AeroMex 787, so be happy, you got what you wanted, more Aeromexico.

I guess it has to do with the licensing, either GJ can't reach a deal with Mexicana, or Mexicana has a contract with another manufacture. If GJ produces this one without permission, they can get in pretty big trouble due to laws reguarding copyright and such.

At this point they only release a Mexicana model every 2 years!!!! I agree that the Volaris plane was totaly unexpected (although I like it and my Mexico collection has grown quite a bit this year).

We will probably see an Interjet A320, ALMA CRJ or Aerolitoral ERJ before we see another Mexicana.

Hi Pimberman,

I REALLY hope this changes soon!! A Mexicana A319 with the new livery would be magnificent!!

About a year ago, Aeroclassics made a Mexicana 727-200 with the same livery as the Gemini DC-10!! Also a masterpiece. I do hope that Gemini, or someone, makes some 727s with some colorful tails. That's my Mexicana favorite livery!!

I guess that manufacturer might be Herpa.... sadly, they have only made Mexicana planes in the 1:500 scale.........

So why did GJ release that Mexicana DC-10 in an unmarked white box if they had the licensing permission? And why is that not a more popular model? I have a spare that I just about can't GIVE away, and they're good looking planes.

TO be honest we have a lot of aviation in Mexico, specially in 2005 and 2006 we have at least 6 or 7 new airlines. Aeromexico has been greatly represented in the 1/400 scale, but Mexicana has been left behind. I do not know if Mexicana does not want grant licenses or if it is the manufacturers problem; but anyway we need more Mexicana models. Also, aside from those 2 airlines, only 1 Taesa, 1 Aerocalifornia, soon Volaris and ocasionally a custom model by ADAMJets have been made.
Here is a list of airlines that can be made:
Aerocaribe DC9
Aerocaribe F27
AVolar 737
Interjet A320
ALMA CRJ200
Aerolitoral ERJ145
Taesa 737,727,757,DC10,DC9
Azteca 737
Click Mexicana F100 (although there is no mould for the F100 )
Aviacsa 727,BAE146,737
MASAir 767
Oh well I think I will just keep calmly waiting for them and for an Aeromexico MD-80 Orange colors and Mexicana A319 and A318 NC and 727s with different tails.

Do you know what Mexican customs has Luis from adamjets made? I only know of the Mexicana 767. Right now I have most of my faith placed in his Latin Classics line. I like the Mexicana golden cheat line 727 very much and I will also buy his new AMX DC-8s...

WOW!! I found the thread discussing these Aviacsa models... A set of two, limited to 24 pieces.... oh well, here I go on a quest to try to find these beauties... Anyone here grabbed an extra set they would like to get rid of???

I don't agree - U.S Airways - Royal Jordanian - both extremely classy liveries for example - much more so the the eurowhite with token livery and the over the top jellybean types.

Weeelll....Royal Jordanian isn't black, it's dark gray, and US Airways is boring with white typeset-style lettering and a ghost flag...but point taken. We all have our opinions of what looks good .

The Livery Does Look Like Something Has Been Censored But I LiKE The Mexican Low Cost Idea So Its On My Order List .. I Am Trying To Stay Away From 737s 319s 320s Because Of There Small Size But Would Still Buy A Few , The Gj Bmibaby Made Me Think Twice.

Most Mexican liveries are nice but this one is too plain. Though I will buy it anyway.
