I would agree with you but, and I do, but the Last time I spoke on this forum about a rumior that I read about. In my opinion caused such an out cry, you would thought I was a *** member going to an NAACP meeting.
Say such as SJ, GJ, or any "$50.00" range in 1/200 scales?
Such as L-1011, DC-10, and MD-11!
Such as A-320 and others...... So Booooring!
Put some float imagine above your head if GJ does those in that scale with their real metal technology, seamless, and realistic-look. May God bless Herpie or other competitors! (Sending them a dozen of rose wish them the best luck.)
For Ridiciousily $200 range, Why dont Herpa do L-1011, DC-10, and MD-11 as their fatherland country love those aircrafts!?!?
Wishing GJ could do such as straight " ATL-Concourse" type terminal that can be extend by buying more block. (16-24 inches long) to desireable length of individual's choice. That is because they are straight which would make much easier to play with those toys with an airplane noises.....
I do not like what Herpa's airport terminal offers as it offers such "Y" or other shapes as it takes out the space.
I am more than certain that there is others that would want ATL type straight concourse!
I wish someone would make available believable, surdy tarmac representations--perhaps something printed on good quality cardboard. Each section would have to fit no more than three planes (say three 1/400 B777 size). Also, each section would have a sticky backside covered with removable non-stick paper: retain the non-stick paper and you can move the pieces around whenever you wanted to; remove the non-stick paper and you can permanently adhere the sections to a smooth, level surface.
An advantage to having small cardboard pieces (say 1/8th of an inch thick--3mm) is they could be mailed safely and not crushed; another advantage is that each section would be affordable so that poor starving collectors could incrementally expand their display and not go broke all at once.
A disadvantage is that a permanent layout would have obvious seams throughout.
Here's hoping.
You know...you COULD try building your own. Lots of us do it, and they look fantastic. Just a thought...
Is is more display accessories, more airline decal access, magazine, vintage molds??
We'd like to hear your thoughts.
I'll tell you whay is missing, MORE MODELS HEADING MY WAY! I can't even keep up with the new ones coming out let alone catching up with all the models that came uot during the year and a half that I couldn't afford to collect at all.

Never Forget, Never Forgive
If you kick the Tiger in the arse, you better be able to deal with the Tiger's teeth.
A central repository for model reviews would be awesome. I'd never have the time to put it together, but imagine how helpful it would be! Yes, I'm aware of DAC's, Brinkley's and 400Scalehangar's databases, but pictures are only half of the equation. I'd love to be able to pull up detailed reviews of most of the models on the market. I think the model reviews section on W900 is a good start, but imagine how helpful it would be with more content.
Smme guy named Colin from Canada was supposed to be making new and improved tarmac/runway like the ones used in the GJ photos. I would like to see that.
Pixelport and Tucano were close to releasing some buildings, but that venture fell apart.
They are from Colin @ Aero Displays in Ontario, Canada. (99% sure)
I just found the email from November 2002! I tried contacting him but was only ever able to speak to his mother who said he was working on new and improved versions - but I haven't seen anything since!
I spoke with Colin/Aero Displays yesterday. He apparently is in a $$$ crunch... who isn't?... and isn't doing anymore (other than some 1/200 stuff) for the foreseeable future. I'm holding onto the few of his pieces I have left in the shop for display purposes, but people constantly want them. There is a real need for well done, reasonably priced tarmac/runway-taxiway sections, both for airport layouts and as individual plane display bases.

...that this hobby is missing SANITY. Definately has to be sanity. But then, if any of this made any sense, especially about licensing being the better products and who owns which company, this hobby would be BORING as well.
I would have to say it's anything related to the airport. I think all of the 1:400 model manufacturers are doing a great job with the a/c, but I'd like to see accessories that match the quality and detail of the aircraft. Specifically:
1. Modern - Airline specific GSE.
2. Airport service vehicles; snow removal, SkyChefs, police cars, fire trucks, construction vehicles, buses
3. Airport buildings. Sell them in sections so they're affordable. But the possiblities are endless here, from real airports past and present to general terminals and towers you can mix and match to come up with your own airport. The amount of different buildings are endless, too. Parking garages, car rentals, hotels, rapid transit, roads.
4.Tarmacs/Taxiways/runways Again, it has to look as good as the airplanes.
And as some of us have said, and I stated, the detail has to match the aircraft. Right now all of the GSE, airports, etc, are light years behind the high quality of the models. I appreciate the new Gemeni select & preminum models, but Gemeni or any other model maker would make a killing off of accessories if they made them as good as the models. They could release the airport stuff like they release the models, have new releases each month, promote and package it the same way as the models. And I know you can make this stuff on your own, but I personally wuold rather buy something that looks ten times better, and takes no effort on my part to build.

Realistic looking 1/200 scale hot flight attendant crews from the 1960's and 1970's, from all the different airlines. Then I would get airplanes to go with them.

Wouldn't you want 1:1 scale hot flight attendants to play with???
Here's a pic of most of the Aero Displays bases I have left in one of the display cases. Sorry they're so distant. The runways are three 12X16 slabs butted together. Some smaller 6X6 bases are behind. I could sell a guzillion of these if Colin would supply them. Let's all chip-in for a sugar-daddy for Colin!

(Attached is the picture of a small version that came with a Blue Box model.)
Here's hoping.
That small display was coppied from eztoys mat section one without our permission
I agree with NOMO55 and boiler0178, more customised airline GSE would be great. Also different types of gse.

No sugar daddies around here. But it's not a bad idea. I have a stupid question: are the grass areas printed, or are they some type of fuzzy (technical term) material? The grass in the pictures in the GJ displays definitely looks on the fuzzy side.
More mil aircraft would be good, large style as opposed to fast jets. Would love to see a 1:400 Vulcan. Military GSE (bowsers, fire equipment etc) would be good too. And how about some decent VARIED ATC towers??
