Angry Ya know what...Dragon's A320 STILL sucks!

I made a promise to myself awhile back, that I'd never buy another Dragon A319/320/321....but alas, giving them the benefit of the doubt, I broke down and bought a TED A320...thinking that well...maybe they tweeked their mould a bit...NO SUCH LUCK! Even though the graphics are nice and the landing gear has noticeably improved, the overall mould is still just plain AWFUL...I can't get over that horrendous tail seam and the nose is way off...I wish we could get Geminijets to release THIS and many more A320 models!

Looks like GJ has Been Busy with Others, but I agree the GJ "Baby Bus" is MUCH BETTER than DW!!

Couldn't disagree more. What leaves me speechless again and again is this uncritical support for Gemini Jets and discussions about seams instead of overall authenticity. Here are three pictures of the A32x series. I think DW's nose and especially the cockpit windows come definitely much closer to the original than the GJ version.

MAybe Ciderman is right. Compare the cockpit windows and the front door. The DW is very close to the original. The GJ front door is so low.

That's only my opinion. I am not an expert.

There is truth to both of your statements. I agree that the nose profile on the Dragon Wings A321 and A320 molds has been excellent the last year or two. But Dragon did something with the TED model and that really screwed up the profile. It seems they added some height to the overall fuselage and have ruined the cross section.

Ciderman, compair the profile picture of the TED A320 to those you have done already and you will see the difference. At the LA show, I purchased the Austrian A320 while Richie purchased the TED A320. Compairing the two, there was a noticable difference and decline in the DW mold's accuracy. If Dragon were to go back to the previous fuselage and do away with the poor fitting horizontal stabilizer assembily, then they would have, hands down, the best A320 on the market. But if they continue to use the fuselage they used on the TED, then I doubt I will purchase one of their A320 that use this mold.

If any of you guys have the new HERPA Silkair A320 model, compare it to GJ and Dragon, Herpa has made a very good job of it...

@FlyFrontier: Agreed. I checked out the Ted pics on Brinkley's website and I was not impressed at all. I considered buying this model but won't do that now. It seems as if they returned to their original mould or something. However, the older DW Sabena and Lufthansa releases for example look great.

@TG757: Herpa has indeed improved a lot during the last couple of months. Their A340-600 is simply stunning. But from what I can see on Brinkley's website I am not totally satisfied with the front section of their A320. In addition to that Herpa suffers from poor cockpit windows. A good example of that is their A310: a great mould but small (1/500? ) cockpit windows.

I think a manufacturer preference list would be a good idea. My personal suggestions:

Boeing 747: Dragon Wings (Big Bird comes close but their nose is somehow pointed upwards, their antennas look superb)
McDonnell Douglas DC-10: Dragon Wings
Boeing 757: Gemini Jets
Airbus A340-600: Herpa Wings
Boeing 767: Dragon Wings
Boeing 737-200: SMA
Airbus A319/320/321: Dragon Wings (except for this Ted model)

Boeing 737-300: Dragon Wings (last version: Shuttle by United white), haven't yet seen the latest GJ mould in person
Airbus A310: Dragon Wings (although this mould has major flaws their A310 Luftwaffe looks better than anything Herpa put out, the Pan Am release however looks poor)
