The show itself was pretty mundane, I spent about 2.5 hours both Thurs/Fri wandering around. Thursday was good, lots of old first version Herpas dirt cheap, including a Southwest Sea World of Texas, among many black boxed models. I simply did some catching up on some SMAs I waited out on. It was good to finally meet Bader though.

You guys are making me feel a lot better. This afternoon I jumped on the old freeway to crawl down to LAX and the traffic was so slow I turned around. I felt bad about missing the show until now..thanks for cheering me up!

Default The Show

Eddie Was there with a cute IN & OUT paper hat.

Richie Was there too as a single pack (he came w/o girfriend)

Walter & Jim were seen together at the AC table w/o any incident looking the next releases.

A. Klein Brough his new Alaska DC-6, really nice and great detail on the landing gear. The future releases are coming with a super surprise. The details are incredible.

3green I wish I knew you were there. It would have been nice to shake hands with you.

DW C-130 An eye opener, the front part of the plane looks round with a pointy nose. Personnally I go with GJ as a nicer mould.

Jeremy Fred and another Dacer from Seattle would come to tears any time a plane landed. They should stay away from the jet blast area.

Many DACers and Buzz people at the IN&OUT having fun
A great Show.

P/S: I found the Herpa Dash-8 Amakusa for 15 bucks and a L-1011 Eastern safety card I trade an with AK anAC F-27 Piedmont for an Iberia 727.

Regards

Skyjets400 were selling there new KLM 763 "KLM.COM" exclusive.

There were Reeve DC-3's on a different table, CX n/c Electras elsewhere, and AeroClassics were displaying their July releases. Inflight200 had their awesome new PAN AM 747 too!

Don't let anyone say that there was "nothing new" at the show. It insults the efforts of those who went to great expense and effort to be there and contribute to the hobby.

Based on what I have seen and read , once again the great classic liveries are being ignored , as for me, so will these latest releases. I salute DW for the liveries they are releasing, now if they could just get a good mould.

Personally I enjoyed the show! I always go for the spotting/mingling with fellow nerds anyway.

From what I´ve read, there were more goodies shown, but I´d only like to name two:

ALASKA DC-6

KLM 767 (n/c)

Great job, Andrew! And, of course, thanks to all the other manufacturers that make me enjoy my hobby so much.

Wish I had been there. But, it´s a long trip...

I too had a good time looking at all the great new releases (the new Gemini C-130 puts the Dragon to shame, but then no surprise there) spending my hard earned money at Andrew Kleins and Skyjets400 and spotting on top of the Parking Spot garage.

Nice to meet Richie (crazy young dude working towards his pilots license), Moose (it was an ELK MOOSE!), Edward (I need another beer)Tumath , Boeing (isn't my girlfriend hot) Bill , Dave (Mr nice guy extrodinaire) and a few others I cant remember due to my OLD age.

It was also great to re-aquaint with those I knew. I look forward to the next show and hopefully will win the lottery so I can afford all those great old liveries Aero Classics is putting out.

I also had a chance to see the TWA Connie from Dragon and I suggest ALL of you wait and save your money for the Aero Classics versions. What is with that landing gear? Andrew's are SUPERIOR to anything Dragon is putting out. I feel the same way about the C-130. Gemini's is way better and worth the money. Dragons look like they used Herpa Wings on the props.

Anyways, nice seeing you nerds out there. Nice to know one is NOT alone. Haha.

Yes, it was indeed GREAT meeting everyone again, including EVERYONE so far mentioned above, plus HNLChris & Dad, Shawn, Bader, & even KJC! The highlight of the event, of course, was the DC-3 flight, and with me on the starboard side, and Moose on the port side, the plane was in perfect balance. Crownvic even dropped his drawers during the flight.

I thought the show was great! There were many new models, I got the awesome looking KLM.com B767-300 by Aeroclassics. Great job A. Klein and thanks for doing the B767 again!

The DC-3 flight was awesome flying along the beautiful California coast.

The LAX "Encounters Restaurant" was awesome, they opened up the Oberservation Deck at LAX for the show goers, first time since 911. Got to see and take some great pictures from there. Got to see the China Eastern A340-600 land, that thing is huge!

Got to go to "In and Out Burgers" besides having great burgers was great to the jets fly so close to the ground and feel the power, hear the roar of the engines.

A boring show! You must have been at the wrong one, i thought it was Great!

Thanks LAX, hope to go back for more.

Didn't anyone look at anything besides diecasts? There's usually a pretty good amount of other stuff to see. What about the model/photo contest? From what I read on the Airline Modelling Digest, it was one of the best ever.

Yo AK,

Just wondering... Are the boxes for the two versions of the KLM 763s the same?

Thanks and nice meeting you!

I enjoyed the show but was disappointed NOT to see a sample / new mold for the "announced" Gemini CRJ (UA Express - NC). That would have been nice.

Yes they are, we use the usual generic AeroClassics box on most releases. The Canadian Armed Forces 707's came in a special box.
Nice meeting you too! See you at the Seattle show in October!
