Here's me, in an engine, wearing the new BA uniform for Cabin Attendants.

Hi there. Yeah, I am an FA for British Airways flying on Longhaul routes from Gatwick.

The initial training takes 6 weeks. They are long, hard and stressful weeks with the constant fear of failing always hanging above you.

The six weeks include periods of Customer Service training, Safety training (emergency landings, fire on-board, ditching, passenger restraint) and Medical training (a whole host of practical and mental work).

There is then a final one-week session held after six months in the air, just to re-clarify some things. No worries.

The safety training is renewed each year, too.

You don't really need anything to work as a flight attendant, other than some customer service experience.

Take a look at www.britishairwaysjobs.com for information about our current vacancies (Shorthaul Gatwick - not the best, but somewhere to start). Maybe worth applying if you're interested.

Default Sir Eddy,

I know you have been looking forward to climbing inside that motor since you got the job.

It looks good on you, nice fit and all!

Don

p.s. Very dapper uniform as well.

Not a radical change from the previous uniform, at least for the male F/As. I hope they improved the female uniform- those dresses were ghastly and I know all the women hated them, as well as the blouse.

I tried crawling into the engine of an American 777 4 years ago at LHR, but it was too high up without a ladder. I ended up having the pic taken next to it. The 767 is perfect for engine photos. Just the right height. Of course, I'm only 5'5".

Kevin,

I have the feeling that they may have had a hoist available for Eddy to use!

And plenty of replacement parts for when the extra tonnage warps the wing root. What Ed hasn't mentioned is that this aircraft was subsequently written off...

Eddy, when's BA gonna send you back over to MCO? I missed out the last time you were here, and hung out with Russell & Ron, however I did see your 777 land and taxi past me while i was pumping jet juice into a SWA guppy.

Gonna be in MCO again in about a week, Dave.

Drop me an email eddy@diecastcentral.net and I'll CC you in on an email to Ron and Russ about it.

Cheers,

Eddy

P.S. Dar, thanks for your kind words. Continental, you're going down, butt plug. Don, my Skipper gave me a "let-up" in to the engine - poor guy.

Cool

The GE90 rocks. What an amazing piece of engineering. I remember when the JT9d was considered "huge". This one dwarfs it.

Smile This thread is about Eddy and his spiffy new duds,

But I do have a suggestion for you, Herr Luftwaffe.
Why don't you go down to your local Flugreiseburo, book yourself a center seat on a Condor 767 and fly to ANC, so I can whip your arse!

It's obvious that this is not happening at home or you would be much better behaved.

PUNK!

With all the female models and car accidents, donut shops and all the other stuff posted, I don´t think Eddy Two showing us his new Uniform REALLY is an issue.

Apart from that, do you really think that the engine can be damaged by a person standing in it like Eddy does?

No. I ment Ladder... used to climb in a 777 jet engine...

Moral of this story.. Don’t criticize then post pics of men’s gentiles!!

Not at this lame resemblance of a weak “I know you are, but what am I” comeback that jjorgeie threw at me… but that when I went to check to see how old this “must be a kid” guy is… that he’s actually 9 years my senor… and still keeps silly pics of nekkid boy’s on his computer…..

Hay... It was YOUR post that put the pic up.....

Oh by the way, Your welcome.... now ya know, ya may go and lock yourself up with your pic......

Here is a picture of Marvin relaxing at the pool after a long day of work!

You will see once you relax for a while, you'll feel a lot better about life, and won't be so tense!
