Default Time is up!!!!

We need a new turboprop model in the 1/400 world. A freshly made modern aircraft that would shake our soul and make us look for the usual liveries.

Dash-8
Atr-42/72
Emb-120
Saab 340/360

Thanks!!!

Sigh...

I don't think this hobby is for the average Joe. I counted 17 quality models announced in the past week (not counting Dragon, Phoenix, etc). If priced at $26.95 each that would come to $458.15. I'm only interested in 9, so that comes to only $242.55 plus shipping (assuming they're all priced that cheap).

Last month with the Braniff 9-pack, Chinese IL-76s and a few others I spent close to $400.

I have a feeling the upcoming propjets will be the reworked Electras, which I've been eagerly awaiting over a year.

My only hope is that all the guys with extra cash, trust funds or sugar parents won't get to them for a couple of months. Who has this kind of money every month?

It never ends does it?...and I am beginning to also think this is a "gentleman's hobby."

Too many too quickly. The collectors without wives children or mortgages, or those collecting via daddy's checking account will see that any limited release is relegated to Ebay hell before the rest of us can get to it. If the huge numbers weren't released so rapidly more of us might stand a chance of acquiring complete sets. Hit and miss collectors aren't affected.

Default Its called...

selectivity.

Pick a them and purchase models that fit with that theme.

Only buy from a single manufacturer (SMA, AC, Gemini)

Only collect a handful of airlines (US majors, Japanese airlines)

Only collect a particular era (60s, 70, 80's)

Only collect a specific geographic area (South America, Africa, Asia)

Only collect a particular aircraft type (747, 777, A340, 737)

Only collect cargo airlines

Whatever floats your boat.

It has been apparent that no one will never be able to collect every model (except maybe Brinkley Chan) so why try.

Pick what you want and stick with it.
