Default NG 747SP Cockpit Placement

Hope the folks at NG read this. Your 747SP cockpit placement is sitting too high. Was really looking forward to the latest United 747SP (Saul Bass colours) and the cockpit is way too high. Went through 10 boxes and they were all the same.

I think this debate was done when the mould first came out. Some say it's too high, some say it's ok, if I remember rightly in the fog of my ailing memory, NG actually joined in, provided pictures and said they were happy with the way it looked and that they weren't going to change it (or was that the nose shape?). I stand corrected if it was. It's a shame if it's a deal breaker for you and others, be interesting to see your comparison photos to judge.

I can not see the cockpit being too high?
The nose is wrong though.

I don't think "the honeymoon" is over. NG models are still just about the best in almost every category on just about every mould. But wrong is wrong. This topic has been adequately covered. I do think there is something not quite right with the nose/flightdeck window placement. I do however think that the inaccuracy is minimal and rather acceptable considering how good the mould is over all. Certainly more acceptable than glaring erroneous printing details found on models from other manufacturers. Ahem. No one else is up to the printing quality that NG offers on the SP except JC/Gemini, but their mould is a cradle mount, so that's game, set, match for me. If NG won't do anything about this as they have said, then as long as they produce the 747SP and people keep buying it the topic it will occasionally come up. To that end, I'd remind the OP to use the Good ol' search box.

Thanks much for this very reasonable approach. Couldn’t agree more!

I am not talking about the shape of the nose, I am saying the cockpit should be printed lower - which is easily fixable.

I agree with 400metal. I have a few SP's now in my collection. Latest being the Saul Bass as above. Im really happy with mine tbh. For the life of me I really cannot see what the big issue is!!
