Default JC Wings 1:400 MH370 Malaysia 777-200ER 9M-MRO

While browsing eBay the other night, I happened to stumble across a listing for a 1:400 apparent replica of the MH370 9M-MRO aircraft.

Here’s a link:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/35366181507...4AAOSwdlZhNvda

This caught me by surprise as ill fated aircraft are traditionally not reproduced in this hobby (and rightfully so, I believe).
At first I thought this might have been a one-off replica but it seems the seller had several in stock and I believe I remember seeing a 1:200 version produced a little while back.
Anyone have any info on this model? Just curious.

Not too sure why they made it. But JC is also making the Freedom of Space 772 which was the plane that got shot down in 2014.

I want both!

However, this is not anything new. Gemini made the 9m-mro a while back GJMAS936. So JC wings might just be releasing the same thing again, repackaged

Yeah, fairly sure it had the Visit Malaysia Year motif on the Gemini version. The real thing wore the motif around 2007.

Yes the GJMAS936 was released in 2010 with Visit Malaysia Year 2007 title but I remember the box print does not have the VMY 2007.

This isn't really accurate. A large number of aircraft in my collection have crashed and quite a few are represented by the exact livery/airline combo of the model.

Aeroclassics even made the Ethiopian 737 MAX that crashed not long ago.

I have a few models of aircraft that have crashed, and I'm still alive.
It's literally just a bit of paint on a piece of metal, there's no serial number or construction number written inside.z

I'm sure many of us own a copy of a particular album with a depiction of the Hindenburg disaster on the cover. Like or not these events get seared into popular culture.
